  1. Probably could have "fixed" it by booting into Bart's (UBCD4Win) or WinPE LiveCD and remote editing the Registry. There are many, many entries similiar to this: \Device\HarddiskVolume1\Boot\BCD (from Win7) that would need to be changed to this: \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Boot\BCD or vise versa. There are other similar entries that would need to be changed from C:\Documemts and Settings\ to say D:\Documents and Settings\ or vice versa and so on.
  2. Sorry! Did not read all the way to the bottom. I am just an old fart that likes to type in all caps because it is easier to see (and I have really bad eyes) and easier to do. I have reached the point in life where I have a hard time spelling and typing at the same time much less remembering to use the shift key. A good friend just im'd me a link to FreeFileSync and it seems to work almost but not quite as good as FileSync did. If someone has a been successful in installing my old favorite - I would like to know about it. thanks, HOG
  3. Anyone else having problems getting FileSync 2.18 (from www.fileware.com) to install in 32-bit Vista? Just now trying out Vista (SP1) and I must say there are many things I like and many more things I really dislike. FileSync is one of my all-time favorite utilities and I will probably go back to XP just for it, TweakUI, and for my HP Scanjet 6250cxi and 5300C none of which will work in Vista.
