  1. Happy New Year! But without looking at someone else's tweak or change or slipstream whatever you may call, how can I know whether I want my copy also to be like that or not? In fact microsoft itself has become enlightened by these constant tweaks in making their software better. I would bet the vista's gadgets were included because people started including their own apps to their windows copies, and they have become popular making microsoft integrate them into their next release. Again here is my prediction: Microsoft will very soon include a software package which can be downloaded after the installation of their os as many flavours of Linux do. If the Boss does get bright ideas, we the poor peasants should give sane advice to him. And one way of that is the tweaks. But you have never answered my question of how to do it.
  2. Sorry, if I don't understand the logic of it. I never said that I don't have any legal xp copy. I said that my friend sent me an iso image, which if I liked could use because he put some interesting features in it. If using nlite itself is acceptable to change what microsoft gave you, how isn't it legal to try an nlited or some other tweaked program to see whether you can use it or not? If you feel that everyone should live with the diet imposed on us my MS, well, the world is wide enough for me to look for the food of my taste, and I feel sorry that I wasted time in joining in this forum, which I thought would offer technical help on nlite. Happy new year!
  3. Hi I am new to nlite. So please forgive me if I am putting a question that was already answered. My friend tweaked with xp and created a bootable dvd inserting some interesting features. I downloaded the iso image, which I burnt to a dvd. The md5 matched after the download. When I tried to install it on my pc I received gdiplus.man error. I changed the drive and dvd and burnt the image again. Again I received the error with cyclic redundancy check. (The previous error was parse error). I checked the dvd with the CDCheck application. It reported errors at two places: $oems\$$ow\users\all users\documents\recorded tv\sample media\jewel of caribbean.dvr-ms $oems\$$ow\users\all users\documents\recorded tv\sample media\vertigo.dvr-ms When I used nlite giving the source as the dvd drive, it also gave cyclic redundancy error. Now how to remove these two files using nlite? I found no options where I can specify these paths. I found one advanced setting of keep files/delete files. Can I mention filenames there? If yes, shall I give the full path or only the names of the files?
