  1. New XP install

    I have just installed XP Pro on a laptop that is using Win98. Install went ok and now have a dual boot system. But !!!! I have an apci problem with XP that I can't resolve. I get the blue screen advising to reboot and then hit f7 on set up - but set up doesn't happen. Every time I restart I have to use previous setting and all comes up ok, I make changes and then lose them all on the restart. The Win98 works no problem. I have tried to uninstall following MS suggestions but no luck, tried to reload XP and that didn't work. I did update the bios before starting the whole process. I want to start in Win98 and then delete the xp windows folder on the partitioned drive and try the xp install again. Any problems doing this???
