  1. I solved my case through another thread in this forum... It seems I had omitted the SATA and motherboard drivers for XP (for my Acer 5975z). Once I included them, I could forward a bit the installation, though I'm stuck again at another point, sob Have you checked you have included the correct drivers for your motherboard and SATA for XP? Maybe that makes it work! And use an original XP version, I made a mistake there too
  2. Hi!! I have just bought an Acer 5735Z laptop with Vista... was too soon bored to see so much confirmation popups and so much resources wasted and have decided to install Windows XP in the secondary partition (it has 3 on it, one for Vista, another for Vista recovery and one free). So I took the free partition and made several attempts to install it there. After getting all the drivers for this laptop on this and other forums, have been now able to get as far as formatting the drive and copying all the files, then the system boots up to continue with the installation and now I get a very brief message: 'There is not enough paginated memory' And then the system reboots and tries it again and again. I have looked the memory configuration up on the Bios, this is what I have found: System Memory: 632 Kb Extended Memory: 3005 MB Video Memory: 64 Mb I don't really think it has anything to do with it (I suspect not), but the case is now I can't access Vista nor complete this installation. Another thing is I can't modify this values on the Bios... Any idea on how to solve this? A little help is also a big help ))
