  1. Of course the rules may be different in your language. The problem is that nLite does not enforce these rules but Windows Setup does.Hope this helps, John. ok, I know that. That's why I tried such names as "KOMPUTER", "XXX" or "NONE"; same for "Workgroup", "Company" and "Full" names - I use only max. 8-character strings including ONLY english letters and/or numbers, I even tried to left individual fields empty, like that computer name, which then is filled with an automatically genereted name, but it still doesn't make any difference - I always need to tap enter on that screen during instalation. I'll try again with ver. 1.4.8 and see if I can still confirm what I wrote before - that the problem didn't concern 1.4.8. tnx for the answer. --- well I did run nlite 1.4.8 and made an unattended installer using WinXP SP2 OEM installation media, and bump - it neither works - instalation process is still interrupted and installer asks for computer name - I'm writing computer name, not Workgroup name, for there's keyb. focus in computer name entry. it could also concern workgroup name. now I know nothing... I think I once or two times achived the proper result (no computer name and workgroup screen) using 1.4.8 but not with HOME OEM version, as I'd been using WinXP Pro (BOX) earlier and there was everything ok in that time. I now don't posses Pro installer, so that could be the problem. well, I'm a bit confused here, for there is no clear reason why this happens. can someone inspect the way nlite operates on that particular area of the installation process? if you're able to make a perfectly automatic, non-interactive windows installer please give some information on versions of software you are using (.NET, nlite, Windows, other?) --- also, the option to switch off personalized start menu doesn't work either in 1.4.8 and 1.4.9.x =P
  2. Hello there, I think I found a bug in nlite 1.4.9. Unattended settings->Owner and Network ID->Computer Name -no matter if you leave it empty or you fill it in and no matter what Unattended mode you select, after that Windows Installer will ALWAYS show Computer Name prompt screen and will DEMAND interaction from the user. this is annoying as hell, for there is no way to create a fully unattended installation medium using nlite 1.4.9.x. haven't met this problem with 1.4.8 and with earlier versions. used versions of nlite: 1.4.9, 1.4.9.1 - both on following hosts: -WinXP Home SP2 x86 -WinXP Home SP3 x86 -WinXP Pro SP2 x86 -WinXP Pro SP3 x86 all having .net 2.0 with sp1 installed procedure: -extract iso image to the folder -launch nlite -select the folder -go next -choose "unattended" and "bootable iso" -go next -fill out every possible field ie. s/n, users, and especially all entries of Owner and Network ID form -go next -click Make ISO -go next/finish I did try every of 6 available unattended modes - they all give same results, I mean installation is ALWAYS interruptead with the prompt where you give computer/workgroup/domain name. very irritating. did someone experience such issue? please help ps. I'm no English, sorry for my spelling/grammar. hope you got the point
