  1. Yup. Through school. I had found http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/winvi...grade_clean.asp where Paul Thurrott spells out how to "clean install" Vista from an upgrade, but I think that it requires the "standard upgrade" dvd, because these files only seem to work when run from within Windows, because when they expand etc. they must need to write somewhere, and I couldn't figure how to make it work running them from a hard drive directory. But I thought I'd at least try it on a bootable dvd. Regards, Chuck
  2. Directory of G:\ 08/25/2008 04:42 PM 85,177,872 X14-63452.exe 09/10/2008 11:58 AM 133,129,475 boot.wim 09/10/2008 12:12 PM 2,783,166,763 install.wim 3 File(s) 3,001,474,110 bytes 0 Dir(s) 0 bytes free When you run it, it has to be where it can write, because it (the exe) expands. So right now, you can only run it as an upgrade from within Windows. So you can't get a "clean install." (*&_()*& Chuck
  3. I bought Windows Ultimate through my school. Instead of receiving a CD/DVD, it was a download -- 3 files. Can I use CDImage to put these files onto a bootable DVD, and, seeing as how I can be a bit slow, is the help file pretty clear on the steps? Regards, Chuck Billow
