    WAIK

Many thanks guys. I should have figured Microsoft would be involved (for better or worse). Have everything up and running now and am attempting to have all integrated up to todays date. ross
  2. Friend has a new Acer laptop with Home Premium pre loaded (OEM) and recovery partition. He doesn't want the crap demos etc. Can he delete recovery partition amalgamate space and reinstall OS with retail DVD using his OEM key? ross

    WAIK

Can someone tell me is it essential to INSTALL WAIK or is it only to obtain the wimgapi.dll for vLite to function. I haven't the time at the moment to try the alternatives but thought someone would know of the top of their head. Thanks for your thoughts or knowledge. ross
  4. Thanks for the response MagicAndre1981. Problems solved by the following method. 1. Old HD, format and install vanilla Vista. 2. Install WAIK and vLite. Reboot. 3. Open vLite. Says install WAIK and hit install to get wimgapi.dll into root folder. Hit install, doesnt work! 4. Manually extract and install wimgapi.dll to root folder and viola things start working properly. 5. Complete intergration of SP1 and copy .iso to desktop. 6. Burn DVD and test on reformatted same old HD- works 100%. Next effort is to use more of the vLite options available and remove a heap of pre installed crap. A great little program (now!) Thanks very much Nuhi for all your work. Makes us lesser mortals feel a lot better to be able to some of the things you experts can do. (At least THINK we can!) ross
  5. Tried several time using XP and Vista Ult installing vLite to slipstream SP1. On each occasion after installing WAIK and manually installing the .dll to the vLite root folder the Slipstraem task does NOT appear in the tasks list. I also get an exception error which says I can ignore and continue but after vLite processes for a few minutes it sits there showing idle and does nothing. What am I doing wrong? p.s. tried using Vlite 1.1 also but same problem.
