    I'll make contracted versions now. Thought a 300px limit seems arbitrary and userbars have always been 350px wide, nonetheless it's not in my interests to annoy the MSFN mods ;)

    This shouldn't be necessary any more - the forum rules were changed and say now:

    "Images in signatures shall not exceed a total of 380x100 pixels and 100kB."

    looks more refined and elegant in my opinion

    Well, this is a matter of taste I guess. - I think 5.1 is too glossy and too shiny...

    btw: the visual style I use has also no user profile picture in the start menu - and in addtion another indication color (the normal xp blue instead of the light gray) => its great!

    I've made some changes to the localisation tool so it's slightly faster and also shows multi-line text properly.

    WOW! I love it!! :)

    There are just two small things I could dream of:

    - default language on combobox 1 should be English, if there is an English resx in the directory (I know, I am sooo lazy... :rolleyes: )

    - if a cell is in edit mode, it should not be possible to select another cell with the cursor keys (if the cursor is in the first or last line, the selection often jumps to the neighbor cell by mistake)

    You can make the rows taller to show multi-line text by dragging the row line.

    I think hessam did switch the phrases and don't know how to correct it.

    Maybe he also has problems making a newline: before this could be done with Shift+Enter - but this is not working any more...

    (newlines are also not shown in the grid - just in the tool tip)

    The new local tool is not so comfortable any more, because Pos1 and End cannot be used any more. :no:

    Would it also be possible to make the local tool path to the default directory in the open dialogue?

    If you like it more glossy, you should try Luna Element 5.1

    Is uxtheme.dll already patched by IxPize 4 ?!? :(

    I think so. Try it out. If it isn't patched, you can find patchers on the web - just search for "uxtheme patcher".

    Hello guys, just want to ask this. I already downloaded xpize v.4 for my win xp sp2. Xpize v.5 doesn't work. Is it any way, how to get more skins (I mean for example other start buttons, taskbar,etc...) for my xpize v.4 ?

    I would recommend you to install SP3 and use xpize 5.

    But you can also install other visual styles on WinXP SP2:

    If you want to use an inofficial visual style, the uxtheme.dll has to be patched (should be done by xpize 4).

    If the style is not embedded in an self installing package, you have to copy the files to the right directory (usually c:\windows\resources\themes\)

    Im my opinion Noir is the best XP theme

    Well, I hate the Noir theme! ;)

    Luna Element 5.0.5 is THE BEST!!! :thumbup

    Maybe it would be good to have a xpize lite with just one good visual style - and a full version with all the good ones (and file size is not a problem at all in this version).

    Important would be a preview for the visual styles (example screenshot would be enouth).

    I'll build some safeguards into the software so it will detect if any Windows Updates are pending installation

    but if you install the updates after installing xpize there's nothing I can do about that.

    You can write some additional information on xpize reboot screen (the page at the end of a successful installation).

    Maybe something like that:

    "The installation will be finished with a system restart only! (because of using PFRO table/MoveFileEx on Windows restart).

    Please don't launch any applications and -very imortant- do NOT install Windows updates. Please restart your sytem right away."

    1. The + symbol on the mouse cursor to indicate whether or not you're about to copy or move files between Explorer windows is missing. Kind of important that.

    Well, normally the filename is shown next to the mouse cursor - therefore the [+] symbol is actually not needed...

    So maybe that replacement was done on purpose.

    2. I found an extra App I don't remember agreeing to being installed after reboot - TaskSwitchXP.

    Did I miss getting asked to agree to this program being added to my computer?

    Yes, on the page, where you can select the components to install:

    xpize > Extras > Program: tsxp.exe

    I'm a IT support engineer and after asking a number of people in my trade I find it amusing that we all seem to like using XP in Green!

    This is really amusing - and also a little weird... ;)

    So any chance of bringing back the Olive Green Theme?

    As far as I know, there is no olive colour scheme available for the Luna Element visual style.

    You have to switch back to the original visual style of Windows xp.

    I installed some Microsoft updates in my VM.

    Because I wanted to save an additional restart, I did uninstall xpize to have a clean system for Release 5 right afterwards.

    Because I deleted xpize Release 4 already, I used the Anolis Installer from the Anolis tools, which was an older version than xpize Release 4 I guess.

    I also did run the Betas on that system before.

    I don't know what of these points is the reason for the resulting problem - but the problem was harsh!

    There was no Windows boot screen any more - the screen was just black.

    Then it turned into the desktop color blue.

    And after that attached blue screen appeard always.

    It was not possible to repair the partition, that is why I did install windows xp over the broken installation again.

    It was just a virtual machine, but maybe you should check the behavior of xpize for these situations W3bbo, because this can cause serios damage to other users...

    Hey Marru_xD, be happy with the clock, like it is.

    On the English version the clock looks like this. - But it has these problems.

    I also would like to see a Vista clock, but I think the original clock is better than the replacement with all its issues.

    For some reason, my windows xp x64 is now asking me to activate it. I have cracked it before, but now i only have 7 days before it wont let me log into window anymore after installing xp size 5 v 4. Can anyone help me with this?

    Hey wookay, I suppose you did crack your Windows for privacy reasons (because you don't want to register), but you have got bought a legal licence (like me before the WGA thing startet). - Am I right?

    Because it is not allowed on this board to discuss pirated software. - You will be banned without notice otherwise (§1.a).

    Wait a little, before you create new userbars W3bbo. I did write cluberti (supervisor) regarding this circumstance.

    There is no English wikipedia article about it (just this), but all others which I checked name the number 350 x 19 pixels. (German, Spanish, French, Italian and Russian - only the Polish article know two sizes: "350 × 19 pikseli lub (rzadziej) 150 × 19 pikseli")

    I think MSFN should change the rules, to avoid, that current rules create a new/wrong standard.
