  1. XP pro install freezing at "starting up windows"

    I have a supermicro, dual xeon quad core processor, motherboard. 771 chipset 4 gigs of registered, EEC ddr2 667 sata 250gig HD sata CD rom the installation proceeds normaly, with loading drivers and then, when it goes to "start up windows" for the beginning of the install, it freezes on that page. definitely not DDR2's, have switched them out already. supermicro has no answer any hints as to how to get past this? using XP pro sp2 original disc. how often do you get a bad board out of the box? Thanks
