I'd like to know what alternatives exist for these operating systems, because for some mad reason people seem to think sandboxing is something you do to your web browsers - I blame google's Chrome browser for popularising this belief - when it actually intercepts all disk write attemps. I need to know which registry entries and files programs try to modify or create... I can run a browser in a VM if I want to be "sandboxed" by its popular definition, but a VM is useless when it comes to genuine sandboxing =(
