  2. Whenever I start an action that should prompt the UAC window into popping up and asking me permission I enter in my admin credentials then the system locks up with the whole desktop grayed out untill I press Ctrl+Alt+Del. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

    This happens only on a user account.

    If you're a member of the admin group. The system is set to only prompt and not prompt for credentials. If I set it to prompt for credential then the system will freeze and I cannot do any admin stuff.

  3. I have a WinPE Image that runs on ramdisk.

    I want to run my own shell. Here is what my Winpeshl.ini looks like

    Winpeshl.ini

    ==============

    [LaunchApp]

    AppPath = D:\myShell.exe

    I don't want to hard code the"D:\"

    Can I run a script and set %CDROM% as an environment variable and be able to run

    %CDROM%\myShell.exe in Winpeshl.ini?

    Anyone out there have a solution?

  4. How can I prevent WINPE from locking the cd-rom drive? I want to be able to eject the cd-rom and reboot the system. I have tried using the RAMDISK and it works. However, I have systems that only have 128MB of RAM. Therefore RAMDISK is not an options. I'm also required to use WINPE version 1.6.

    It it possible to exit WINPE and enther DOS mode? that way WINPE would release the CD-ROM drive.
