  1. Hmm could you send me the .reg key I am also interested in it but I am afraid I cant fix your problem.
  2. Here's how you can remove those shortcut arrows from your desktop icons in Windows XP. 1. Start regedit. 2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile 3. Delete the IsShortcut registry value. Thats how the shortcut arrow is removed (I want them to come back), the IsShortcut is there but has no value.
  3. I am running xp pro, browsing through gpedit now --Edit-- Found it, fixed it. now only the shortcut button overlay remains.
  4. I am having some problems which I cant find an solution to. First of all I cant find a way to restore my log off button on the start menu. I have found an vbs file though that should repair it, but my pc wont run any vbs any more, because I disabled it and dont know how to enable it. Second the overlay icons for shortcuts dont work any more. I have turned them on with powertoy and rebooted, again and again. But they wont come back. Who can help me?
