A format and fresh reinstall did the trick for me. I think I manually deleted something inside windows folder some time ago that messed up everything quite good.

I cannot get rid of KB953838. No matter what I have tried (reinstalling IE7, uninstalling all IE7 updates). Any ideas? EDIT: KB953838 has been superceded by KB956390 now. Same issue, though.

Hi. I am doing some benchmarking and I am currently running Windows XP at 16bpp instead of 32bpp (true colour). Certain programs have the ability to do dithering resulting in no noticeable quality loss, but this is not the case for common desktop windows. Is there any way to force dithering? PS - Using an Ati Radeon HD3870 (Asus).
