  1. Hi everyone, may I start by saying a big thanks to you all, I couldn't have got Win98 SE back on my machine without the guides and topics of this forum, although this is my first post, I've been lurking for a few weeks My installation is running fantastically well, its like settling back into an old pair of shoes I have just one obstacle left to overcome, perhaps you can assist me. My previous XP installation used ICS to hook my xbox 360 up to xbox live, the whole thing just worked, I had no settings to configure on XP's side, and on the xbox all network settings were just set to automatic. My setup consists of a wireless router (called BT HomeHub if any of you are from the UK), which my computer accesses via a wireless usb dongle. The computers motherboard-embedded NIC then connects to my xbox via CAT5. For my shiny new Win98 SE installation, the drivers are installed and appear fully functional (I can browse the internet without difficulty through my wireless dongle, and my xbox 360 reports during the network test that the network connection is "wired" ). The installation of ICS seemed to go smoothly enough, with binded tcp/ip protocols for "shared" and "home" etc, but xbox live fails to connect, failing on the DNS test. I've toyed around with a few changes to the "shared" tcp/ip protocol but I can never get past the IP test. The current settings I have are: xbox live set all to "automatic" Wireless routers gateway is 192.168.1.254 the "shared" tcp/ip protocol is set to: static IP of 192.168.0.1 subnet of 255.255.255.0 gateway of 192.168.0.1 All the rest of the tabs are at default state. My computers name is "main", and my wireless internet reports itself as "home" (don't know if thats domain/host or what). Has anybody attempted this in the past and pulled it off? Any assistance would be fantastic. HeXy
