  1. I used the link off the other message (ryanVM), and I didn't see the validation UI throughout the XP install, but I'm not sure about one thing: Is this is a hack sort of, or just another way of properly integrating the validation part

    progress bar

I use the runoncecmd to install windows updates that I can't integrate w/ nlite, and since I install the stuff from the CD-ROM it takes it time, but I was wondering is there a way to show the progress bar while the framework is installing? If I could have the progress bar at least it would be shown the installation is working. I was hoping if you got rid of the /passive it would show the progress bar but had no luck w/ that. I suppose I could use the $systemdrive$ feature to install the updates from the hard drive to make this faster, but I'm not sure if the updates will be removed from the hard drive after the install, or is that something I'll have to go back and do manually cmdow @ /HID @echo off SetLocal enableextensions SET CDROM=%~d0 SET KEY=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx REG ADD %KEY%\010 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\update\WindowsMedia11-KB954154-x86-ENU.exe /quiet /norestart" REG ADD %KEY%\015 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\update\windows-kb890830-v2.13.exe /quiet /norestart" REG ADD %KEY%\020 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\update\dotnetfx35setup.exe /q /norestart" EndLocal EXIT Thanks for any info
  3. Hello all, I've had a lot of fun playing around w/ Nlite, and have made good progress, but one thing is bugging the heck of me; probably making to much of nothing though. The latest windows validation update, kb905474, I can get to work through runoncex, but for the life of me I can't get rid of the screen(s) where you have to click next and so on. May be you can't get rid of the user input for kb905474, but and ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
  4. This issue is driving me crazy trying to figure this one out. I get sent word files through email, and these files have a named followed by an underline such as: author__________ I'm supposed to type the author's name over the line, but when I do that Word 07 puts blanks spaces in the line along with extending the line. I can do the same in here by typing: _____john doe______________ You see the spaces added under John Doe along with extending the line. The only way I can get this to work, and this maybe the only way to do it perhaps, but I highlight the underline, erase it, type the name, highlight the name and underline. Is there a way to protect or lock the line so when you type on it Word won't put the spaces in or extend the line? I've searched google on this topic and each one I found mentions using a form or table to do this??? Thanks for any suggestions
  5. Hello, Maybe someone else is having a problem like this or perhaps offer me some suggestions. I have an updated XP installed w/ SP2, IE7, and WMP 11 that works fine; got an ISO file saved. I extract the ISO file to a folder and trying to use nlite to integrate SP3. Using nlite I can integrate SP3 fine and burn to a CD. The CD boots and installs XP w/ SP3 but no longer has IE7 or WMP 11, why I don’t know. I figured since I’m using the ISO that already has IE7 & WMP 11 in it that I just could continue on from those updates, not working. I’ve tried a whole lot of different orders in updating w/ nlite but still no luck. If I just integrate the SP3 patch the install goes fine, but as mentioned no IE7 or WMP 11. When integrate SP3 & IE7 and the do the install the PC constantly reboots for finishing setup; never make it to the part where you enter your product key. I’ve tried integrating the 2 updates in different orders. First doing IE7 then SP3 vice versa but still get the reboot deal. When I just integrate SP3 w/o IE7 the install goes fine, so for some reason IE7 is the bad guy. I’ve downloaded a new IE7 file from Microsoft just to see if the one I was using was corrupt, no luck. To make this work do you have to start all the way from the beginning? What I mean is get the XP files from a CD that has no service pack at all, and start w/ SP2, SP3, and IE7, so on. I’m not trying to integrate drivers so that wouldn’t be a cause of this problem, and I’ve also tried this on 2 different PCs, which would mean to me the problem couldn’t be on the PC. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
