Hi Tomcat76, I already have the latest version of MUWEB_SITE.CAB, and put it in HFCABS folder, but Microsoft Update page still asks me to install a new version. For the problem of KB935448, yes you are right. I'm using Realtek HD Audio chipset, does it cause that problem?

Hi, there. First of all, thanks for this great prog! I've included KB935448 as in Tomcat76's hotfix update list. After installing new HFSLIPed Windows XP SP2, I saw that Microsoft Update complains the absence of KB935448.. I already checked that a right version of hhctrl.ocx (only one file in KB935448) is in system32 directory, and registry entries are also right. I can't figure out what causes this problem. I'll attach HFSLIP.LOG here. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well.. I have one more which could be another problem.. I totally upgraded my system to new one so I installed Windows XP SP2 again, and this time I used HFSLIP 1.6.2(I used to use 1.6.1). When I got to Microsoft Update page, first I saw kinda a ActiveX installing message box, saying Microsoft Update (or Windows Update), then it had to be updated to use newest microsoft update system. Is it a normal procedure after slipstreamed MUWEB_SITE.cab and MUAuth.cab? I'm not sure 'cuz I haven't seen this procedure before using HFSLIP 1.6.2.. Thanks, and Cheers~~ HFSLIP.rar

Hi there, I've been using nLite and HFSLIP, great progs!! Well, I've got a problem after using nLite on HFSLIPed xp sp2 source which KB888111 is slipstreamed. I don't know what exactly causes this problem.. I heard somebody got the same problem as this, he said he did remove 'USB audio support' at components-hardware section. I already tried his method but it didn't help to solve that problem. I'm going to include LAST SESSION.INI file. I hope somebody will help me to figure out the problem~ Cheers! LAST_SESSION.rar

I found this problem after using nLite. Only the left side of the start menu, which should be "Windows XP", is covered by black. Does anyone have the same problem as me? Is it related to one component that I have to keep to avoid that problem?

Tomcat76, I guess you are right. I have FIND.EXE in C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder, but there is one more find.exe file in my system and also its path is included in my system environment. I've used MSYS and MingW environment, and it has find.exe for some features. I think it causes that problem.. Thanks for your help. I'm going to test them again excluding that path.

Hey guys, sorry to be late. I'm going to attach SWFLASH.IN_ files for Tomcat76, as u want to analyze, also IE.IN_, MSOE50.IN_, SYSSETUP.IN_ for fdv. When I packed SWFLASH.IN_ in SOURCESS folder, I found that inf file size is too small. It didn't contain enough information to be set correctly... fdv, I think those files which made u curious are not changed as they are same as original files. well, here it is. swflash_infs.zip files_for_fdv.zip

All right, I'll attach that file for u, Tomcat76, after I get back home. Here is my friend's house now.. well.. what the hell causes that problem? I can't even guess anything.

Hey guys, finally I fixed that problem! In HFCABS folder, if I have swflash.cab (Adobe Flash Player) it makes that weird problem. When I excluded swflash.cab file, my XP installation didn't make any trouble. However, it's really strange. When I have old versions of HFSLIP, I didn't have that problem. fdv, if u still want to look into the files u mentiond above, I can send those files to u. Are u interested in? Huh~ I've spent almost one day to figure it out. gosh...

Hi Tomcat76, thanks for ur answer. Yeah, I already changed every references to driver.cab to spx.cab. I've been trying to fix that problem, and I almost have the clue what causes that strange problem. Something in HFCABS folder gets some programs not to be installed. When I excluded everything in HFCABS folder (simply I changed the folder name), xp installation didn't have a problem. I'm gonna figure out which specific files makes trouble.

Thanks KiKi, Glowy for ur quick response! Yeah, I've used TC's dynamic list with some updates from Windows Update Catalog website. Glowy, can u tell me which files are obsolete? As KiKi u said, I added some hotfixes and updates since I successfully installed windows xp last time. That was exactly the same as the February update list which is in the_guy's windows xp update thread. Also I changed driver compression method to D, which was A when it didn't have any problems. May it cause the problem? If so, I have lots of things to do for checking what makes that problem.. Now I'm installing windows xp again using HFSLIP 1.4.0 with driver compression method A and without February hotfixes and updates I'm getting sick of re-installing xP If I can't even fix it with those options, I'll post some files from the working copy.

I tried to re-install windows xp sp2 without the files above I mentioned, but it couldn't fix the problem. Now I'm going to use some old versions...

I don't have Step-by-Step interative main program Because those files didn't make any problems with prior versions of HFSLIP, I didn't think that makes the problem. However, I'll try reinstalling without those files, also WINNT.SIF file. As ur advice, I downloaded several old versions in test version's link by changing date number. B) I'm going to dig it up!

I attached my HFSLIP.LOG well, I was supposed to try the other versions of HFSLIP before 1.3.0, but I deleted those files so that I couldn't test if higher versions causes the same problem. Can somebody send me or tell me the link to old versions of HFSLIP? I can't find them in google search. HFSLIP_log.zip

Hi, I've used this great program for quite a long time. Since the version 1.3.0, I have serious problem which several programs are not installed. I've never had this problem until the version 1.2.2. Unforfunately I can't check what could cause it because I already deleted old versions of HFSLIP. At T-13 installation, I opened command window and checked 'Program Files' folder, and there were empty 'internet explore', 'outlook express', and several other folders. also there was no main executable file of WMP 10. I don't know what causes this problem. Does anyone have the same problem with me? Can somebody help me to fix it?
