  1. Hey there, actually, I was quite sure I would find several topics about this issue around here, but I didn't. In case I was too dumb to use the search engine, excuse me please - although I actually don't think I was. But well, here's my problem. I've been trying many things with nLite in the last weeks, and made several Windows installations, which all worked more or less well - but there was one problem that they all had in common. Windows wasn't ever able to use my onboard sound chip. It works fine with an external Sound Blaster by Creative (via USB), but my Realtek, VIA or whatever sound chips aren't recognized by Windows at all (I've tried it on four different computers). I am able to install the Realtek drivers without problems, but they won't change anything. The VIA drivers tell me right from the start that they can't spot the sound device, although I'm definitely using the right drivers. The only thing that has helped so far was either using the external thing or returning to a not modified WinXP. Has anyone of you ever had the same problems? As I said, I've tried dozens of custom installation discs. Some with nearly everything removed, some with just a few modifications, but I've always paid attention to not removing anything that has the word 'sound' in it - but yet it didn't help at all. Is there probably a simple fix for that, or do I have to change one specific option? The computers I used were: one with a MSI P6N SLI-FI mainboard (which has an ALC888 sound chip on it) with an C2D E4400, one with an ABIT A-N78HD (ALC888 too, I think, or probably ALC889) and an AMD Athlon 4850e, one with an ABIT IP35-E (ALC888 again) and a C2D E6750, and last but not least a Zonbu Desktop Box which has a VIA Vinyl audio thing, as far as I know. I'm going to attach the Last Session.ini of my last try, which I made for that IP35 PC. One of those with many things removed, but as I said, there were also many were I didn't remove anything from the hardware and drivers section .. Well, I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance and all the best from good old Germany. Stefan Last_Session.ini
