I have downloaded executables from the windows update website with the purpose of applying them remotely and silently to slave PCs. What switches will work to achieve this and have no user intervention?

How do you disable the welcome screen in XP? I want to have the user be brought automatically to the desktop screen upon restart or reboot. I have tried going to control panel > user accounts > change the way users log on off but I get the error window "automation server can't create object" and both options - use the welcome screen and use fast user switching unchecked. I have also gone to gpedit.msc to see if I can turn off the welcome screen but found no option that works.
