Sorry to post on something two years old, but a few friends and I have also had this problem. I believe it's a problem with it's usage of DirectX 8.1. The fix is rather simple. 1) Make sure the game isn't being played in windowed mode (or it won't work at all) 1a) If it is in windowed mode, delete the system.dat file located in the common folder. 2) download a program called 3DAnalyzer (it's used for emulating certain graphic API's.) 3) Open 3DAnalyzer and run your game from it.
