What a genius...
Anyway it's about one entire day thet i'm trying to find the cause of missing lan-browsing capability, but without any success. Anyone ideas?

excuse me if this question have been posted before, but I didn't found anything on the forum about this:
I am unable to browse my network after using an nlited xp pro and also i get a strage error when i run an application (Net Repair):
comctl32.dll missing or unregistered.
Isn't this dll included in the OS (the one responsible of the interfaces and so on)?
Anyone can give me some hints please?

Hi!
I customized the AutoIt script provided by blinkdt
and changed it to automatize the Acrobat 3D Activation.
I made the main installation with a RAR sfx archive, and after the install I run this script.

The script run the program after the install and call a generator to make a key. The main difference with the original script is that in this version the serial should be inserted separately in 5 edit boxes.
If your generator have another name you can change it in the script.
I tested it in VMWare and works ok.

Thank you about your reply, but what I am after it's another thing, ie integrating the updates inside the local installation (to deploy it over a network). Now when i slipstream the updates inside the folder it seems that everything work fine, until you run the setup. At that point you get the error and it's really strange because the msp allow you to integrate the updates inside the main administrative install-point.
Any idea?

Did you tried to install it? After slipstreamed the patches on the adminpoint and i try to install the application i get this error:
Internal Error 2602. File, Update_2.kfp

Well,
check if the computer browser service is enabled on both and check if on the connection properties are enabled just the tcp/ip protocols. If yes, you have to enable also the other two (not the qos one, that is ininfluent) which i don't know how are named in the english edition pf the oses.

Hello,
I'm trying to see if it's possible to slipstream SP1 inside SBS2003.
When I integrate the w2k3sp1 inside the first cd, something is missing (wizards and company) and I wonder if it possible to integrate everything inside the setup, even if it will convert the suite form cds to DVD.
Anyone succeded?

Is it possible to integrate a language pack inside the installer? I am not able to see the framework starting in italian and that's quite strange because i'm sure I've downloaded the italian versions of the installers and patches.

Wow, great work!
This is my first post, but I'm a faithful reader! You guys (and girls!) are all very good!
There's just one thing: I would really like having the same thing with the French version of Adobe Reader 6.0.2, without PrintMe and stupid shortcuts, and with the registry tweaks. Is there any way that you could describe everything that you did, so I could replicate it with the French version?

mh, completely removing ie so really can create problems seems... under all the aspects...
So what about to make an option to partially remove ie and completely eradicate it?
Afterall the actual uninstallation allow to install office2003 and everything works, even windows update (copying the iexplorer.exe and launching it from ie menu).
Another thing I really would like to see is the directx component for uninstallation.

even uninstalling ie the browser is still here, you just need iexplorer.exe and it will work...

Done this with v.9.0 (or was it 8.2?). If i rightly remember i run then in the problem with some DRM***.dlls (don't remember the right names). Reinstalling WMP works then, but i was not able to reinstall IE. I think someone here posted a workaround for that all and perhaps in v9.2 it is history because i haven't tested more till then. Perhabs i should try once more...
IE can be fast like a locomotive, but it can't never be my first choice...lack of functionality. I need Popup-blocking, Multi-Tabs (oh yes! I must have this....), very easy and fast switch to no Javascript-Support, open 20 sites on one click...and so on. IE is only possible for my with tools like MyIE. And i don't want talk about security...it is not the strongest side of IE

As for its lack of funcionality, well, what about to use a wonderfull frontend like avantbrowser?
I use opera, but sometimes i have to use IE too, so in those moments, I love to use something more "modern" and here avantbrowser comes! ;D

It is the same for me Rudi1...i don't like IE . I take mostly Firefox or Opera for browsing, but because of sometimes making websites it is good for me having IE onboard.
I advice you to remove IE and reinstall it with a normal installation after having installed the os without it.
Belive me, it's a completely different browser!!!
Much much much more faster than the integrated one and I dunno why ;D

The new 9.2 version gaved me no problems, I've tryied to reproduce the same errors reported by ZuluDC, but with no success.
Everything is here when it's not selected.

Neither SP1a nor SP2 contain the MSJVM. Neither does Win2K SP4 or Win2K3. Why would he need to?
Because in the world there are also versions having it inside?

A good winnt.sif editor is contained inside the dir SUPPORT\TOOLS just inside the Deploy.cab
setupmgr.exe is what you're searching for.
A curiousity:
The CAB compression algorithm wasn't developped by Microsoft, originally it was called LZX and was created on tha Amiga Platform many years ago.
Then they've purchased from the authors the technology and (maybe) recluted the creators inside the devteam.

I've just downloaded the new version, I've checked a little it but... (surprise) no java eradicating option was inside!!! :°
P.S.: put an option to do not eradicate the DRM when you omit the mediaplayer from the installation!

It appears that the setup is always taking the exact time to copy files, even if they aren't in there!
I say this because if i don't use nLite and create the same customized windows xp iso (without the components removed), the file copying is constant and there is always disk activity.
Anyone else can test this?

Not here bud,
I use VirtualPC too and this problem do not happen.
Maybe you can see that's slow if the window of the VPC machine isn't activated (I mean focus on it).
This is a strange phenomenon that I've noticed, maybe the system lower the priority of the task when it's not active or it's just a bug... Anyway just take the window of VirtualPC active and see if happen the same thing.

After slipstreaming you have directx9.0b no? I slipstreamed the sp2 2096 (not even the latest but the last one from m$). I nLited my install cd, and after installing it (nothing updated) I ran dxdiag, and it gave me version 9.0b (4.09.0000.0903)
One more Q:
What happens exactly when you remove the valueadd folder?
I have not splipstreamed the SP2 since it's not officially out yet and it's only available in english.
That's the reason why I've asked for more components in list
Anyway the value add is a folder with additional programs, mainly for sysadmins, you don't need 'em for setup purposes.

@Milgathia, thanx, as soon as language bug is solved there will be multiple components added
(ok, in the future i'll try to see why ie can't be reinstalled, maybe because of registry leftovers, i haven't delete them yet)
I have the answer sir.
To reinstall IE i did the following:
1) Installed Mediaplayer 9 (to solve the DRMClien.dll issue)
2) I've added a DWord in the registry path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}
'IsInstalled' and setted it to 0 (Zero)
After that I was able to reinstall IE even if I think it's not a good and complete installation...

first of all let me congratulate with you for the excellent work on your application!
Second I wish to see an option to remove the directx components, since they're really obsolete... and we all use the 9 version atleast
I've encountered some problems when I've deleted IE and reinstalled it again (IE 6 SP1).
