if i do a normall install when i start the program it asks me for my serial which i put it...everything then works ok.... i have tried several times on the comman line install (in case of typos)

Hey Acheron Can you expand on why it wont work....does the reg file need to be run?? Also u mentioned i needed the installer and not nero.exe. can you let me know where i can get the installer from then as i thought that was the file on the first post thanks

Thanks for your reply Acheron I actually found a work around anyway....if you install using nero.exe and the manually enter your serial number / username it creates a reg file in the nero folder.... if you copy and past this reg file into the directory after you install...its registers the prog jid

Hi Folks Just tried this today (downloaded the 8.3.6.0 version from the first post) and used the following to execute nero.exe /silent /norestart /user=jid /serial=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (where x is replaced by my actually code) everything installs silent which is good...but when i try to run "Nero Express" it tells me to put my code in so i copy and paste the code from the command line and it then accepts it..... can someone please check that i have got the command line correct please.... also can someone tell me how to get a shortcut to "Nero Express" on my desktop after installing, as nothing is created thanks Jid

thanks elajua and Martin H after looking throught the forums alot and the guide again....i have actually gone along the [guirunonce] route as i have managed to find 90% of the apps i want to install along with the codes.... i just need to find how to get them to install from the cd now as im sure they will be copied over... thanks again for your help though...much appreciated

Hi Folks I have a Belkin Bluetooth USB Adaptor and i have a cd with all the files on to get these to auto install on my unattendeed cd, do i need to treat them like an application (by adding the setup file under [GuiRunOnce] or do i treat them like a driver (http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/35/) I have tried following the instructions for a "installShield" install but it didnt create the setup.iss Sorry if it seems like a realy obvious question, but im getting myself all confused now Thanks in advance Jid

hmm ill try it again later for testing purposes i have been putting files in c:\1 and then in the run command i been putting c:\1\sopcast /S am i right in thinking this is a good way to test....also does it matter that i have renamed the setup file thanks radix

Hi Folks Im trying to set up Sopcast 3.0.3 to install silently. I have tried /s /S /silent but none of them commands seem to work. Im putting the command in my batch file for [GuiRunOnce] Can someone please help i tried seaching the forums...but no joy (unless i have done something majorly wrong) Thanks Jid

Thanks Martin You ever get that feeling you cant see the woods for the trees....after re-reading it makes perfect sense im interested in this part though You might ask, "why not run application installations from the CD itself?" This is because CD-ROM drive letters are bound to be different on every PC, which shows why there's no permanent "%CDROM%" environment variable......(although its been discussed often in the forums so it should turn up in asearch) Can someone advise if this is worth doing and / or point me in the direction of this please....im thinking i would rather install the apps / drivers etc from the cd rather then copy them over to my pc Thanks again everybody

Hi Folks When i view a thread on my work computer it only shows the first message and if there are any replies it just shows the heading underneath the first message, but if i view the same thread on my home pc it shows all the messages one after the other how can i change my work pc so that it shows all the messages like my home pc thanks

My new cd directory at the moment is located here "c:\xpcd" I want to add my nokia pc suite and i have the installation file on my pc under c:\progs i selected the file in runonceex and it puts it in the menu for me....but surly the installation file needs to be stored somewhere under the xcpd directory can someone please explain where im going wrong thanks

Anyway finally managed to get the Beginner section sorted (with help from the forums) and now im stuck on the intermediate part when it comes to selecting what progs to install on startup (question hopefully posted in the correct section) Anyway...thats my MSFN life so far, so if you see me on the forums asking (another) question....please go gently on me.... Im a bit niave when it comes to this but i thought it would be a case of selecting what progs i wanted to be installed at startup....how wrong was i.. Hope i havent broke any rules by asking this... Hi folks I think im gonna get in trouble for this but im trying to create my own XP cd using this guide http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/v...9ff0179e7f1a53/ and i got to the part of the hotfixes and it told me to download from here http://www.msfn.org/board/HOTFIXES-Windows...000-t31886.html now i think im being really stupid, but i thought i was looking for 1 file to download....is this the case, but i can follow all the rest of the instructions...just seem to be stuck on this part thanks for looking (and hopefully you wont flame me too much) Jid
