UPDATE: this also does not work on windows 2k, or 2k server on a side note it used to work on xp pro ... pre SP2

i use XPCreate to load XP / 2k on to tons of diffrent machines ... recently i have been having issues loading 3ware and adaptec drivers. I am not puting them on the slipstrem cd ... i am loading them from floppy. what happens is i press F6 to load the drivers ... it finds the floppy and gives the option of what drivers to load, then it keeps loading the rest of the windows files, but then when it goes to copy the drivers it states it cannot find the files. i have tried diffrent driver disks i have tried the newest version of the driver i have tried diffrent floppy disks i have tried diffrent floppy drives any sugestions?

as far as installing windows on a raid setup... it goes pretty easly... i have set it up on a 8port 3ware card ( i added the sata driver to xpcreate and things worked flawlessly) with 8 250gig sata drives and far as burning the cd.. use another program that supports overburning like nero or alchol 120% and u will be fine

for those who are intrested in the awnser ..... open regedit goto HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop look for a key called wallpaper example: "Wallpaper"="C:\\blue_loiosh.bmp" wallpaper must be in bmp format to work

The whole asking for diffrent setups of the hotfix is getting to be like beating a dead horse. Lets simpfy things. 1. if you dont want certin hotfixes installed, just stop XPCREATE after it has downloaded all the hotfixes, take out the ones you dont need and then modify the xpcreate.ini file. 2. the whole idea behind this project is to automate everything from building the iso ( pauses would be annoying ) to having XP install with all hotfixes. if you want any other configurations please see #1. (and for the people with dial up... dont complain.. you get what you pay for.)

modifing the copysource entry in the ini does not work =) that was the 1st thing i did when i got the new version and i did move the bootimg over from a previous install ( you have helpfull error msgs that tell you when things are missing) this weekend i will have time to sit down and see if i can fix this prob.. if i find an awnser ill post besides this small hiccup ... this has been working like a charm.. i have a windows xp pro disk that has 65 drivers, and is fully automated it fits in a 713 meg image that when its overburned works like a charm. this weekend i will be doing the same process for win2k pro win2k server xp home and 2k3 server

sorry about the confusion what i ment by "the files" would be refering to the windows cd (i386) so that i can use the files on my hdd and not have to put in a windows cd

i had the same prob but i also tweak xp to run faster ... heres what you need to do to fix your prob open your registry editor goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem look for NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation change the value from 1 to 0 reboot your system =) now it *should* work

Another fun post from a newbie i have been using XPCREATE /w jojo's downloader and untill recently that has worked perfectly fine.. untill jojo lost his hosting and the site went down (but we still have to give him props) now with the new version of xpcreate, greenmachine has integrated the auto downloading of the patches witch is great. the problem that i am having is when i modify the xpcreate.ini to look for the files on the hdd it doesnt work anymore.... any help would be greatfull
