  1. Hmm, it did in a manner, I found the directory for my folder that contains all the user specific folders like documents, music, pictures, etc. and threw that at the end, but it does the whole browsing folder display where it opens the C drive, then users folder, and then my username. Anyway to get it to open with just the normal display to my username? Not sure if this helps. I'll play around with it some more and thanks for the reply. This is of course just a cosmetic thing and your advice will in the end be used, just curious if it can be done.
  2. Afternoon, I was curious if anyone knew how to change the default folder that explorer opens up to. Currently it opens directly to Documents but I'd like it to be something different. Already did a preliminary search for "change default folder explorer" and didn't really see anything.
  3. Evening, I'm kind of sifting my way through the whole process of creating an unattended SS'd xp sp3 cd and have been acquiring the drivers for each over the core components. Currently I'm trying to determine what exactly is required from the driver pack I downloaded for my Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer, released on 31 July, 08. There are two seperate folders in the drivers folder, one named SBXF and XFHX. I am assuming the SBXF is the Sound blaster, however what is the HF? And also what exactly does wdm stand for? It is very common and I'm still trying to cipher my way through this. Any help, also a guide or two helps, but I've been reading through the primary Unattended one.
  4. I found the solution after a good solid night of driver searching and contacting dell to find out exactly what chipset came with this specific model. If anyone else is interested just reply and I'll try and explain it to the best of my abilities.
  5. So, the title has a bit much in it so I'm going to start of from the beginning. I have a 720 XPS system that I'm reformatting the driver to have XP Pro SP3 installed on it. I have downloaded the driver for my nVidia Mediashield and have successfully installed XP on the HDD without any problems following the F6 procedure of selecting the driver and etc. So, maybe I'm being picky, but I am going a step farther now. I have begun the slipstream process for my XP SP3 CD that is completely unattended using nLite and have added in the forceware driver for my video cards and wireless cards etc. I also attached the inf for the SATA drivers, however the system will not recognize the drivers during the initial setup when it says press F6 for drivers...after some research I found this link here explaining why. Now after reading through it a few times I have the .sys file I need and am fairly sure I've set most of it up correctly, however I was looking for the TXTSETUP.OEM file that is 'supposed' to be with the driver for the additional information and haven't found it. Or if anyone has any additional information on how they've setup their system using XP with slipstreamed drivers or any just general advice I'd appreciate your comments. Aedaric
