Hi there, A customer of ours has a 2003 network. They want to install a new 2008 Standard server. We are using a HP Proliant DL380 G5 with a Server 2008 Standard ROK(Reseller Option Kit - Bios Locked OEM). Now my question is if we can buy Governmental CALs (they are eligible for them) for the ROK? Or do we need need HP ROK CALs?

Keep domain membership after sysprep /oobe

You can add an unattend.xml to your sysprep, where you can add the PC to the domain again. I actually work with 3 xml files for my unattended vista installs... -

That only worked to setup my DNS servers... I found this on another forum, in progress of testing it now -

I'll try that, thanks! -
The guide I gave start from scratch yes. It's how I learned to make a vista unattended with minimal experience (I've made an unattended XP once before ) The link is to a forum thread You want to look at the first post. It's the index of the guide. Just click the links you see there

I install apps with 2 xml files. The first Autounattend makes your Vista installation unattended. In the Oobe Pass of this one, you simply add a Reseal to boot into Audit mode (don't know exactly which module without seeing it) Then in the AuditUser Pass of the first XML, you add Synchronous Commands First you have to specify a folder. You can do this by putting a txt file names AppsRoot.txt in the root of your DVD. Also make a folder named Install, where you put all your installation files. The first Sync Command should be: cmd /c "FOR %i IN (C D E F G H I J K L N M O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z) DO IF EXIST %i:\AppsRoot.txt SETX AppsRoot %i: -m" To specify the root of your DVD as %AppsRoot% Then to install programs, use code like this: cmd /c %AppsRoot%\Install\Office\Install.exe [+parameters] like you would do an install with a 'run' command in windows. btw, I got all this info from the nice little Guide Firegeier wrote from us on this forums: http://www.msfn.org/board/Vista-unattended-Guide-t95462.html

Um, and what would be the layout of such an XML file? Can't seem to find it anywhere :s -

I used this guide to make a silent install and then let it install in Audit Mode. Works like a charm ^^

Install applications... SP1
Minus30 replied to zedox's topic in Unattended Windows Vista/Server 2008
I have followed SonyXp's guide and it worked like a charm, for installing the apps that is. Now i get an annoying window at the first boot after installation (and if I don't respond it's persistent) Anyone knows what I'm doing wrong? I'm fairly new at making Unattended Installations btw (my first one was 2 months ago at school, a windows XP) Here is the window: AutoUnattend.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <unattend
