Have you tried using either ERD Commander or Sala's Password Renew on the Ultimate Boot CD? I would recommend downloading the Ultimate Boot CD from http://www.ubcd4win.com. Using the program you download, compile the .ISO and then burn it to a CD. Reboot your computer to the CD and run Password Renew. When the program pops up, browse to your Windows directory (usually C:\Windows). Under "Select a Task," click on "Renew existing user password." Select the user to change a password for, leave the other fields blank, and hit "Install" underneath "Select a action." Quit the program and reboot to Windows XP. The user account you changed the password for should give you access to your computer.

hey, this is lars: i've been visiting msfn.org for about 8 months now since i've been on the development team at my university's computing services department. i'm currently in the process of creating a new, updated unattended XP install disc for student use at my school, and when i'm done with that i plan to move on to the guide i found on this site today about installing multiple operating systems from a single DVD. my hopes for this next year is to create an 8GB flash drive, dual-booting bart's PE and ubuntu (or some form of linux), packed with diagnostics and admin access tools. if anyone is willing to share their knowledge on these subjects, please feel free to contact me! thanks, and i'm looking forward to participating on this network. lars
