I bought a WD sata2 250 gig hard drive to replace my old samsung 40 gig IDE drive. Upon getting it I realized that my via chipset ( VT 8237 ) doesn't support the fast transfer speed however according to WD I just need to jumper pin's 5 and 6 to lock the drive in at the sata one rate. I have been trying to install my drive and followed the directions for the Slipstream to incorperate the drivers I need w/o the use of a floppy. That seemed to go fine however it hung up on the "Setup is starting windows" screen. At that point I tried to just get my system to recognize the sata drive and it won't. In the device manager the VIA Sata controller has the black ! on a yellow background. The error I get is "There are not enough resources for this device" Code 12. I have talked to western digital and also talked to MSI. At this point there has been no solution. I tried to follow the device manager trouble shooting guide but when it tells me to try and change the the resource of the conflicting device I can't do it. It says "While you are in the Resources by type view, double-click the device for which you want to change resource settings. On the Resources tab, under Resource type, click the entry that conflicts with another device. Clear the Use automatic settings check box, and then click a different configuration in the Setting based on list. Click Change Setting. Scroll through the available Value settings, checking Conflict information as you select each one. If you find a setting that does not conflict with one of your other devices, click OK, and then restart your computer. If all settings conflict with other devices, click Cancel to close the dialog box, answer No to the question at the bottom of this page, and then click Next. " I can't Clear the "Use automatic settings" box. Any help would be great. System info is Motherboard MSI KM4M-V VIA SATA RAID Controller driver is 5.1.2600.54 dated 11/8/2006
