  1. Please tell me where is a simple driver file i can install to use this card? My onboard sound has completely disappeared from my computer, sound, game controllers is not located in the device manger and its nothing coming back, i have reinstall windows98se, restarted, etc and its not coming back. But if i get the sound card working, it may appear, even tho my onboard sound seems to be wipe off my computer .
  2. Can someone tell me does the 82.69 drivers work with the 8400GS, 8500GT, AND 8600GT Cards? Also may i ask where did these drivers come from, is it easy to mod Nvidia drivers to make them work in win9x? Does the Kernal patch help you run xp drivers on win9x?
  3. Can someone tell me does the 82.69 drivers work with the 8400GS, 8500GT, AND 8600GT Cards?
  4. Well i am just trying to find a good decent card to work well with older games and games( 2003-2006 era ) when i switch back to using windows98se, when i buy my new secondary computer. I already have the 3dfuzion FX5500 card which works perfect with windows98se and my games. I think i can use the X1550 series because the 6.2 drivers are supported by it. I want to know how the Geforce 8 cards may work with the 82.69 drivers tho. Thats what i want to know, if they do not work, i would just use the FX5500 and the X1550 cards. I guess i will worry about it, after i buy my new computer soon.
  5. Don't forget there FX 5500/5200 , X1550/X1300 and Geforce 6200, 8400GS, 8500GT, 8600GT PCI cards as well. Does the 82.69 drivers have 8 series cards support up to the 8600GT?
  6. The X1550 ATI card is right here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814161227 This is what i am going to buy when i do switch back to windows98se, the 6.2 drivers support them. I was curious about the 8 Series PCI cards tho. I think the last Nvidia driver 82.69, don't know if that driver supports the 8400gs or 8500 or 8600gt cards tho.
  7. * Please delete the other thread please , i should of ask this here , thanks * I am buying a new computer soon, a secondary one. Anyways, when i do this soon, i was thinking about going back to using windows98se( i recently switch to XP home edition ) , on this computer. I wanted to know could i use the following cards with windows98se with PCI slots: X1300 or X1550 or 2400HD(ATI) 8400gs, 8500gt, 8600GT( Nvidia ) BTW I found this # Radeon® X1900 series # Radeon® X1800 series # Radeon® X1600 series # Radeon® X1300 series # Radeon® X850 series # Radeon® X800 series # Radeon® X700 series # Radeon® X600 series # Radeon® X550 series # Radeon® X300 series # Radeon® 9X00 series # Radeon® 8500 series # Radeon® 7X00 series Release notes cards supported driver 6.2 which does work for win9x So that mean i can use a X1300 or X1500 with win9x/PCI? Also is there a chance that someone can mod the drivers to work in win9x or is that impossible?
  8. One reason = To play older games without issues.

  10. Alright i forget the link or the name, but i have a 500GB my book edition and its ask for drivers to install, but i don't see at the website and a disc never came with it, any ideas? I know there is a link for win9x users to install something in connection with the external hd, but i forget. Thanks
  11. What am i suppose to download, dec2007? I don't see the june version?
  12. Btw what it seems like it seems to be struggling with DX7 hardware features or something. I just tried to play Aliens vs predator 2 and the game is crawling , but when i look up in the sky it moves over 50fps, but once i stop looking towards the sky, and face the textures or whatever, and start walking around, or even turn around, the game is moving at 8-10fps. Why would a dx10 struggle with old games, or have problems viewing textures? My guess its a driver issue, and i hope visiontek can fixed it. I am going to try some of the tweak drivers or just try every ati driver lol, if none of them work, i guess i will just play what i can and hope visiontek can release a new driver soon. If not, soon i am buying a Geforce 8 series. Thanks for the help and if i fix the problem i will come back and tell you!
  13. Hello, I always uninstall the old drivers using driver cleaner pro. But see, i don't have this problem with none of my other video cards, before i bought the 2400 PCI, i was using the 6200 OC and never had any problems, neither with my FX5500. Also, keep in mind, i am not having this trouble with every game. It seems like there is a conflict with DX7 and it causing certain older games and newer games to become unstable. Visiontek said they are testing out a new driver and plan to release it soon, so maybe the newer driver will fix the problem.
  14. My system specs are at the bottom in my sig. Anyways, i am using a Visiontek ATI Radeon 2400 HD PRO PCI card. Using the Visiontek Driver 8.3. Now this might be a driver issue and until Visiontek releases an updated driver, i am stuck with this problem. Anyway, when i go to my DXDIAG tool, and do a D3D test, you know the spinning cube, well Direct 8 and Direct 9 cubes are spinning normal and smooth. But Direct X7 the cube is spinning weird, it skips a bit and jerks around. I read somewhere that the 2400 HD cards doesn't support Direct X7, only 8, 9 and 10. Now i didn't have this problem with no other card expect this one. Even with my Geforce 6200 overclocked 256mb pci card this problem never showed up. So anyway, by directX7 spinning so slowly and jerking around, READ: Some of my older and new games moves really really choppy and drags alot. I can't even play games like UNREAL GOLD, a game which came out in 1999 right? The game moves choppy, slow frame rates, etc. So i wanted to know, should i have a D3D X7.DLL file located in my system32 folder or should i just wait for another driver? Also keep in mind, this doesn't happen with every older game, only a few of them. When heavy textures come into play, the game starts to move slow. Has anyone else had this problem before? Do directX10 cards have a problem with " some old directx games?"
