  1. 9 series? I highly doubt that. I think 8 series is the lastest. But nobody has confirm that the 8 series work. I said i wasn't going to buy anymore PCI cards, but i may still do that and see just does a 8 series card work for it. There is only one driver that supports the 8 series tho and that is the 82.69 and i highly doubt that it works perfectly for videos and gaming, i think some sort of problem may arose. I am not buying any pci cards anymore tho, unless i come across those Albatron cards, which i will buy just for testing.
  2. Is there anyway possible to make fraps anything higher then 1.9d to work under win9x?
  3. This is interesting, using the 81.89 drivers, i can shut down my computer without any issue in " SAFE MODE ". This means, that something is running in normal mode which is preventing it to shut down incorrectly.
  4. Well this is what i am using: Autopatcher dec 2007 pack Kernel 3.6 Thats it from this forum. I can't use the following: 82.69 , works good for games, but terrible for videos Uberskin - Impossible to uninstall from your computer, unless you reformat Revolution pack - Impossible to uninstall from your computer, 32bit icons doesn't work with Nvidia cards. What i am using thats not on MSFN: eXPerience Pack Have 32bit icons and doesn't mess with your system files, and plus you can uninstall with ease, no issues.
  5. It takes a while for a video to start up , so sometimes i have to hit play again for it to start. 82.16 doesn't seem to have this issue. But then again, there is no stable driver for the 6200, because the 6200 line of cards are not supported by Win9x.
  6. I am u2kforever btw, just lost my password and its under a yahoo account which i don't have access anymore. Anyways, the 77.72 drivers are good, but i have video problems, so i am using the 82.16 and i still have the shutdown problem. However When you see the black screen, and that flashing sign, just click any button on the keyboard and it will save a windows error as occured, but then it will shut your computer down. Once your computer is shut down, turning it back on will not give you the blue scanning screen for errors, thus its a work around issue.
  7. Nice card, and about your PSU, i am using a 90watts Powersupply Unit that has been working since 2000. My BFG 6200 which requires 250 is working just fine. I think the cause may be do the drivers. btw, another NEW PCI card has been release: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp;js...d=1218007087696 I might end up buying it in a few weeks lol. I am a sucker for PCI cards. Plus i am using a bfg 6200, so the 8400GS will be a nice upgrade
  8. Compared with PCI-e 8 series, the PCI 8 series suffer a serious performance hit. http://www.4gamer.net/games/038/G003818/20080728022/ Well if someone is using a powerful CPU, the PCI 8 series should be just fine. I am looking into buying one to see if the 82.69 or 82.16 drivers work with the 8 series under win9x. I am using a 6200 OC and its really good, but its always nice to find something more powerful for my last PCI card to buy for this computer. I just hope the 82.69 or 82.16 work with the card, if not, oh well i guess the last card which i will be using on this computer is the bFG 6200 OC. Yea would of been nice if ATI added support for the X1XXX series under win9x.
  9. Well yea the drivers on the disc is also on the website, but its good to test out other drivers as well. Whenever i use my FX5200 or FX5500, i always go with the 56.64 drivers. They are always the best ones.
  10. I was thinking about testing out it, but was curious to know how was it. So far i tested out XP home edition on my system specs and older games which doesn't work good on XP in general was worst, also games in general the performance was bad, because with my system specs was holding me back, now that i am back using win9x, all my games run perfectly, no issues. But i was just curious about windows2000 and how does it compared again win9x? I also think another reason why XP didn't perfom way because of all that crap that it loads up, Svhost, and some other junk, does win2000 have any of that? does it support FAT32 or something else??????????? Just curious, doesn't mean i am going to actually test it out.
  11. What drivers are you using? Try using the 56.64 http://www.nvidia.com/object/win9x_56.64.html
  12. Here you go http://www.sendspace.com/file/odph5m One of the best drivers IMO.
  13. They also have 8 series geforce which i have posted. They have alot of FX AND 6 series pci cards, just go over to Newegg. Hey chillinfart, check that thread soon, i will post the link the 4.3 drivers which i uploaded for you, from my Diamond 5.0 driver disc, it has the Diamond 4.3 drivers and they work marvelous
  14. The FX5200 is pretty good, i still have the EVGA version, only used it for about 2 weeks, so its still kinda brand new. It has shader model 2.0 and a 128MB onboard, its pretty good and powerful. Infact, its just as powerful has the FX5500, only thing the FX5500 has 256mB and has a 128bit bus, and the core and memory clock is slighly higher, but overall the FX5200 is great. I am looking into buying the Sparkle 8400GS, or the Albatron 8400GS, or 8500GT or the 8600GT. I have to do some testing and hope the 5 win9x drivers work with one of those cards If anyone wants to view the new pci cards, have a look here: Albatron PCI 8 Series cards: http://www.albatron.com.tw/English/product/vga/pro_index.asp Go down to the bottom of the list: And the sparkle pci cards: http://www.sparkle.com.tw/product.asp?id=86 I hope to have one very soon I hope the 82.69 drivers work with one of them tho.
  15. My Motherboard is this: Intel 810 Chip. In XP, AGP texture acceleration is enabled, but IN win9x its disable, but i do not have any AGP slots on my motherboard, believe me i have check many times lol. I have 4 PCI slots. You might of never the part where i said i was max out Quake 4, that means at 1280x1024 on a 14inch monitor. Now to answer your question, a 14inch Monitor supports 1280x1024 32bit. I play all my games at 1024x768 or 1280x1024.
  16. I have my onboard sound back, but i guess its impossible for someone to make a driver for sound blaster audigy se 7.1, model number SB0570?
  17. Just wanted to know. I am using this one: Using the Nvidia 77.72 drivers. I also wanted to suggest that you also buy the OC 6200 card, it has 256MB onboard, but when looking in Dxdiag it says 251.5MB and there is no AGP Texture acceleration on. However don't let that fool you, i can Max out Quake 4 with AAX2 on and get 30-60fps, Prey at almost Max settings and get 25-70. Flatout 2 funs fast as hell, 30-87fps. This card runs better in win9x IMO. And runs older games without issues, depending on what driver you use. Also note: Using the BFG 6200, we are limited to only 5 drivers. The 77.72, 81.85, 82.16 , 81.89 and the 82.69. Anything lower then the 77.72 we can't use on win9x. Also keep in mind, you may have video problems using the 82.69, which is why i never use them. I just have 77.72 install with coolbits. I haven't tried overclocking yet tho. The Specs on the 6200 OC BFG is , 256MB DDR2( Its not DDR, but DDR2 ) 64bit bus, the Core is 350 and the memory is 532, no wonder its fast. If you have any questions about the card, just ask. Btw my system specs in my sig.
  18. yea i planned too, because after reinstalling windows again, it takes about an hour to download it again lol. But i plan to keep it on my internal HD, i have plenty of HD space. peace
  19. I have a quick question. I just downloaded the dec2007 298MB file, after autopatching everything, is it safe to delete the folder? or should i just leave it be on my computer in the documents folder?
  20. MY FREE memory is up to 77 right now, but i notice it goes up and down, one min it was at 44, then it went back up to 92.
  21. I have 77 right now, after being online for a few hours, playing games, etc it drops to 40 or 43 or 60. The user resources and GDI always seems to stay in the 80's or 90's. I don't know what free memory is either.
  22. Well if using PCI, yea it seems we are limited to certain cards using win9x. I am using the BFG 6200 OC edition PCI card, works good with win9x. I do plan on buying the 8400Gs, or 8500gt or 8600gt to see if they work with it. As for modding drivers, people mod drivers all the time. I ask someone over at this one site, they said people are able to do it, but they won't. How they would fix the drivers to make them win9x supported, i have no idea. My advice, do what i am going to do. This computer i plan to always use with older games and whatever, but i am going to buy a new computer soon, to play the newer games. I think that may be the best option.
  23. Hey Peffse, what slots do you have, PCI OR AGP OR PCIE? Btw, someone or people can mod alot of ati drivers to make them work with win9x, but nobody wants to do it. All they say is get rid of win9x , blah blah. Fact is, older games and some new ones, in the range of 2005-2007 actually run better on win9x, then on xp. Windows98se is very good for gaming, too bad other people can't see it. Yea is not going to run none of the newer games, but for older ones it beats XP in circles.
