  1. You are correct - it was not a XPCREATE issue - but I was very confussed by the data so I threw it out for ideas. It turns out to be, of all things, some sort of conflict with the NVIDIA video driver if loaded durring the build. If I load it durring installation I have this issue. If I load it manually after installation it is fine. A real brain teaser if you ask me. Of all things video Thanks for the great work and hope you can keep it up!
  2. I have a very perplexing problem! I am not sure where to go from here so if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. I will state my problem first then give details after. PROBLEM: When a domain user logs into one particular computer built with my XPCREATE unattended XP install CD their profile information is not saved to the 20003 domain server upon logout. Also as a FYI if the user logs out and I login as local administrator without rebooting I can not delete their local profile using 'My Computer | Properties | Advanced |User Profiles Setting button' as if the profile is still in use. Additional details: • I can rebuild computer with source XP CD and all works well • I can build other computer with XPCREATE CD and all works well • My configuration consist of: o 1 W2K3 domain server o 2 domain client computers • IF no profile exist the root folders will be created but no profile info / folders (Favorites, cookies, applicaiton data, ntuser.dat) will be created. Profile folder is created but empty. • No errors are encountered on login • No errors appear in either the system or application event logs If you have any ideas and need additional configs please contact me and I will be happy to send anything that might solve this very interesting issue. Thanks….
  3. How about we not assume, because we all now what it means to assume, that someone has been 'lazy'. Obvously you are not lazy because you apperantly expend a lot of energy making post like this so you can bolster your ego. Is this what your therapist encourages you to do when you are feeling inferior?
  4. How do i genreate or where do i find this file? I do not see it? Do i need to set something in the ini file to get it to generate?
  5. I keep the below error when donwloading sp1a. Also my understanding is that the only diffrence between sp1 and sp1a is the omission of the JVM machine. If this is true and I have a copy of sp1 what would be the best way to include it instead of sp1a in a build? -- 17:23:39 --> Source not up to date. Need Service Pack. -- 17:23:39 --> Cannot find SP SPACKS\XPSP1A_EN_X86.EXE. -- 17:23:39 --> Downloading Service Pack. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
  6. Well I am sheepishly happy to report I have found the problem. It appears that for some reason my source was not getting xcopied completly. Not sure why it is not xcoping correctly - I have tried several read and write test on my CD and they all appear normal but I was only getting thru the D's copied into the CDROOT folder. I am sure it is a source problem so I appoligies for wasting your time. By the way... durring this exercise I broke down and actually started going thru the xpcreate.cmd to understand exactly what was going on - I have been around since the old DOS days and I have to say the CMD file is a nice one. Great job keep up the good work and hopefully you won't run into amymore 'users' like myself.
  7. Well I am stumped - attahced is the swflash.cab I am using along with the expanded swflash.in_ that is created in the xpcreate.iso. If you have anymore ideas that would be great. swflash.inf swflash.inf
  8. Yep all checks out - version of xpcreate is current and swflash.cab has current verison in it. I have even tried to extract the file and place it in the root of xpcreate to help things along with no luck.

  11. I tried to create a new slipstreamed cd using xpcreate but i am recieveing an error. The error is - can't find swflash.inf. I have the most current version of swflash.cab in the svc-swf folder and I have verified that there is a swflash.inf file in the cab. Can anyone shed some light on this problem or help me to torublshoot it further. Thanks...
