I am tearing my hair out trying to figure out why I keep getting MSIAPICALLFAILURE error when installing Office 2007 ProPlus. I used the OCT to build a custom MSP file without any problems. I even extracted, and added into the UPDATES folder, Office 2007sp1 and several hotfixes. I have had success running the installation from a command line, but my successes are random at best. After much banging around on the keyboard, and just for grins, I tried double clicking setup.exe and keep getting the MSIAPICALLFAILURE error. The log file shows "Error: Type: MSIGetSummaryInformation call failed...msiapicallfailure ErrorCode: 1620 (0x654)." I get that error 3 times and then the installation stops with a Return Code of 30050. Are my files corrupt? Specifics: Upgrading from O2k3 to O2k7ProPlus Will be downloading entire package via SMS and running locally Windows XPsp2 Windows Installer Version 3.1.4000.4039 I sure do hope someone out there can help with this aggrivating issue.
