  1. hi guys can anyone help me with this problem i'm encountering? i'm having problem with a few of the XP pro sp2 machine at work. i've tried google for a solution but so far still not able to resolve it. whenever the pcs are left unattended, the screensaver will kick in after 5 mins a error msgbox will pop up with the heading"microsoft visual c++ runtime libary" and the msg "runtime error!" "program: c:\windows\system32\scr1.scr" "abnormal program termination" the weird thing is that not all of the machine are having this problem. just some of it and double clicking on the scr1.scr file launch the screen saver without error. i've tried giving full permission to the folder system32 and still have the error. how do i resolve this?? thanks in advance for any help rendered. best regards

  5. Hi guys i'm not sure this the the correct place to post this..... but since some1 else has open a topic on this i thought i'll just add on MS just released 8 new hotfixes, ms05-023 is for ms word. i've extracted the following file from it :- ohotfix.exe, ohotfix.ini, ohotfixr.dll & WINWORDff.msp. since the patch is a msp file, i think it is possible to integrate the patch into MSoffice admin installation source and deploy MSoffice fully patched right? this should work right? eg: msiexec /p c:\winwordff.msp /a c:\office\std.msi i haven't tried it out yet ... if anyone has can you pls feedback? my applogy if i shouldn't have post it here regards
  6. haven tried it on a usb hard disk .... did boot up on a usb thumdrive map to a share drive with os and installed from that location fully unattended. would think it should work just as well with usb hdd. try this site http://www.bootdisk.com/usb.htm regards
  7. hi guys anyone can help me with this problem? i'm trying to deploy outlook 2003 to users over the network without user input. i've edited the setup.ini files and insert the username, company name and cd key in and uses the setup.exe /q to install outlook silently is there any other way to do it? i've read abt getting ork and doing a transform file but have no idea which option is required and how to go about it. Another problem is i can't configure outlook 2003 to deploy with predefine setting. i would like to be able to know how to configure outlook so that when user launch outlook it automatically look for the mail server and requires only the user to type in their name to their account. (my company uses exchange server for email) thanks in advance
