  2. Hi all I have a Windows XP Home system, its an OEM version. I am new to this forum & the reason I am here is that somedays back a cousin of mine accidentally ran a hotfix which was meant to solve some problem with Windows activation in the Windows Media Center Edition. The fix didnt bother to check the OS and the result is that I am not able to login. It gets me to the login screen and when I click on my account it starts to log in then I get this error: A problem is preventing Windows from accuracy checking the license for this computer. Error Code 0x80004005. I click ok and get logged off. The problem is discussed in KB 811632 at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=811632 The solution given over there is to restart in safe mode and uninstall the fix, well I am not able to log in thru safe mode. I tried everything but just cannot reinstall I will loose way too much of data and the OS CDs that my vendor provided medo not give me any options other than restoring the system to the state that I bought it, this is not at all suitable for me. One of my friends suggested that I connect this hard drive to another of my systems using it as a slave and delete the Windows Product Activation files and activate windows all over again, I dont mind doing that but what files would I need to delete? H-E-L-P I am doomed, at my wit's end absolutely dunno what to do, I can say just this much: H-E-L-P M-E ! & Thanks in advance for any help
