About Me

I am a very new system builder and lover computer technology. I came to my love of technology rather late in life, after not having a computer in the house for well over six years. (It has been three years now since I bought my first OEM Dell system, and the salesman had a field day with my lack of experience!) I had forgotten everything (which wasn't much) I knew about computers. I didn't even know how to turn it on! <grin> I am self taught through books, Online forums, Wikipedia, Microsoft Knowledge Base, Help and Support, XP/Vista Solution Centers, TechNet, MSDN, Microsoft Webcasts, Virtual Labs, and many, many computer technical forums and blogs of leaders in the computer technology fields. I am a follower of Ed Bott and appreciate his books and blogs. I also am a budding Systernals user and am learning how to get the most of these sensational tools/utilities. I am highly interested in learning programming languages, and am utilizing the free Microsoft Visual Basic Express Edition with SQL, and am a frequent visistor to the Scripting Center. (I am very new at this!) I enjoy reading and one of my newest reading resources is simply browsing the many Online computer community forums, often simply searching out posts and reading what interests me that particular day. I also visit the Microsoft Communities--from the most basic on up to TechNet forums and everythng inbetween. I know a little, just enough to get into trouble, and have a long way to go on this new "geek" journey. I am attending university to finally finish my Bachelor in Phychology, after raising eight children, (no, I did not give birth to them all) as a widowed mother for eleven years. As you can imagine I am very family oriented. I am happily married to a wonderful man these past three years whom I met in an Online dating site. He lived in one state and I in another state. It was an adventure to move from our home town of thirty six years to an entirely new state which is very different in landscape and weather. We left behind a large extended family whom we dearly love and use technology to stay in touch. I love Webcams!
