there's certainly alot of knowledge in regards to services and components. in my experience the information out there usually isn't presented in real world descriptions either, but the simplest method i can share with you: search blackviper or eldergeek to get an understanding of the service or component. example use a free virtualisation application to test any changes to an iso you might make, vmware server works fine just as an example, copy the attachment to vLite\Presets and run vlite using -extreme switch and load "my preset" from preset > load currently using this one (vlite 1.2b) on windows server 2008 x86 enterprise, for dx10 games. iso is 479mb my_preset.ini
