  1. Hey thanks man, that does sound about right. And it IS windows XP. I think the files may have been corrupted due to a virus on there - my only hope is that I don't lose me data. Ooh ho hoo, isn't that always the story. It's a bitter person that tells you at a time like this that you should have backed up your important files isn't it? So I'm fairly computer literate - I can get the BIOS to boot up from CD and all that - but dyou think I'll be able to do this on my own? Kezza x thanks a million
  2. Hi there, I need help and fast!! I've been off the net for about a month now, so I'm thinking my problem isn't a virus - or it is, but an old one. Today I switched on my computer and because it had been on standby for a while it did the usual checking of drives and things...this took a while. But then ever since that, every time I switch it on - instead of taking me to the password section. I get this logo screen. Like the password screen without anywhere to type a password. And it just stays like that. Then I tried starting it in safe mode and it does the same thing? What the hell do I do? Any advice would be welcome. Kez
