  1. Thanks for the replies guys. :)

    Magic:

I did try that, but the file was still way to large. I'm suprised that it is so big for about a minute worth of gathering data. I can save it as a csv though I don't know what the readablity of it will be?

    Submix8c:

Thanks for the link. I had already looked at that. Like I mentioned I've been scouring the net for answers for the past week or so.. All our machines run the configuration manager but none of the them other behave like this, nor do they have ccmsetup.exe actually running continually like this machine.

  2. I've tracked to a file ccmsetup.exe, which I believe is Client Configuration Manager. Evertime this file is it causes the cpu usage issue. Have tried uninstalling to no avail. As a test I deleted this file which worked for a while then somehow it was back. You'll notice in the log that msiexec.exe is called which I think is re-installing ccmsetup.exe.

    Don't know if that helps.

I have the pml file but it's 253MB Any idea how I shrink it?

    Thanks for your time

  3. Hi All,

Hoping someone can shed some light on this as I've been battling with it for a week now and run out of things to try from the usual avenues of google etc.

I have a machine that after logging onto a domain, services.exe comsumes 99% of the cpu. Now this only happens when network is connected. If I remove the network cable it doesn't occur.

UPDATE: I've just noticed that even if left at the login screen without logging it happens. It seems if the network cable is plugged in it will happend logged on to the domain or not.

I can't see anything suspicious in the HiJack this log and I've run various virus scanners and spyware scanners with no results, so I'm not thinking it is a virus but maybe a confllict somewhere. Now it's a co-workers machine so I don't know if they installed something and it happened or it just started happening. They seem to think it just started happening.

After fiddling with various things I thought I had it licked, however after leaving the machine sitting idle for 15 minutes I went back to it and the it's back again.

In process explorer when I bring up the properties for services.exe and view the threads, one with the start address of "kernal32.dllCreatethread+0x22" is the thread hogging all the CPU. Now if I click on the suspend button the cpu usage returns to normal but hogs the CPU again if I resume it. Obviously if I kill the thread the problem goes away.

    Here is the thread stack:

  4. It's only the ISO creation problem, make the final ISO from the modified folder with some other tool, like Microsoft CDIMAGE or OSCDIMG

you can use boot.bin as a boot folder from the vLite.

In the meantime please tell me your exact drive model, also try it with VMware or Virtual PC, and do they boot from it?

If not I'll need just one more thing.

I have the exact problem making Ultimate disk:

    File: \Boot\BCD

    STATUS: 0xc000000f

Info: ..error occured while attemp to read boot config.

Same result using two different computers, two different DVD drives.

    (1) Liteon DVDRW - 1693S

    (2) BENQ DVD DD DW1620

I burned with Imgburn. I didn't compile using CDIMAGE. Where do I get OSCDIMG.exe, is CDIMAGE newer program?

EDIT: I used CDIMAGE and re-compiled the ISO using the boot.bin inside vlite rar file. It worked great !

Guys I've been trying to create an Vista ultima Boot cd myself with no success. (XP was so much simpler) All the info (bar this one) I have found suggest to resinstall with the dvd which is great but I have no option to repair as I get the same previously mentioned error. BCD error. Hence I cannot repair. At the moment I am trialing it with virtual pc. Can't seem to get a boot image that will work. Am I missing something?

  5. Vista does not have xvid or divx codecs. getting some third party codecs to install can be a pain in Vista. The codec pak that is known to work in Vista at this time is the k-lite Mega Codec Pak version 1.59, however, do a custom install with it and unckeck the fldshow items as Vista has a problem with the fldshow.

I use the vista codec pack and have not had any problems at all playing any file.

  6. then don't get worried

vista original format is UDF, so u need to creat a UDF format ISO image with the help of cdimage or oscdimg

    Here i am going with oscdimg { coz i already got success with this method, and i am sure u will get too..}

i assume ur Vista sorce is inside E:\vistaDVD

then ur command line to build ur original vistaDVD will be

    oscdimg -bE:\vistaDVD\boot\etfsboot.com -h -u2 -m -lVISTA_EN_DVD E:\vistaDVD\ D:\VistaDVD.iso

    Download oscdimg

    Here,

boot info is given by =E:\vistaDVD\boot\etfsboot.com

    Vol label = VISTA_EN_DVD

    source = E:\vistaDVD

    Output ISO = D:\vistaDVD.iso

Output image can be burn on DVD

PS: if u want ur additional softwares/tweaks/updates to be included on the DVD, simply create folder inside ur vistaDVD folder source eg. [e:\vistaDVD\myupdates]. It will be included while compiling the ISO.

    cheers

    :thumbup

    Edited: typos

I keep getting an error "Could not delet thte existing file C:\...\boot\ Error number 5" Anyone else had this problem using oscdimg? working under vista ultimate. tried running as admin but still won't work? Any ideas?

  7. Thanks FireGeier,

Working on it now, I get an error

ERROR: Could not delete existing file "D:\Projects\Unattended\Vista\WVISTAUL_EN_VOL01\" Error 5

    Still working on it!

Anyone else still having this problem? Tried running as Admin. What file is it trying to delete? Any help would be appreciated. Working under VIsta Ultimate.
