  1. Cheers mate, fixed the problem! I had tried the wildcard, but only on the http URL, not the https. I know it's not the best way to limit accessability, but it was the way it was set up before I started here, and we've had no issues with people abusing it. If the issue comes up in the future, then a more secure option will be implemented.
  2. I am attempting to allow access to a single website on a PC. In the past, other PC's have been set up through the Content Advisor in IE to only allow this single website and it works fine for now. As far as I can see, this new PC i'm setting up has everything set up the same in the content advisor, but it will only give access to the front site, not the complete website (do a search, click a link, etc). It's a rather detailed website, and setting the content advisor up for each page would be way to involved. What's the trick for simply allowing the complete page (all pages, folders, etc)? This is how I thought it worked?! The pages are https pages, if that makes any difference?
  3. I've got a pc here that has been using the Administrator account as its one and only account for almost 2 years. However recently, a new account with admin rights has been created, which hides the Administrator account. Basically what is wanted is that this other account be deleted, the Administrator account be the one and only account and no having to choose an account at the welcome screen, just have it go straight to the desktop of the Administrator account. I've played around with no luck. Any suggestions??
  4. If I read this right, will it have to be activated over the phone once installed??
  5. I have a wierd problem in Vista RC1 in regards to my wireless signal. Before connecting to the wireless network, it's at full strength, but once connected, it's only at 1 or 2 bars. In XP it is full strenth. The position of the PC and antenna doesn't change, nor does the wireless router and its antenna. I am not sure if i'm getting slower speeds because of this. I will find that out later on.

Do you want to hide the "start" task bar??
  7. I have installed a new motherboard into an IBM machine. I need to find out how to use the XP liscence to install a fresh copy, rather than attempting to run the recovery stuff that IBM have put on the drive. Of course, manufacturers that supply PC's like this don't give you an original XP cd. What i've done to try it is this... I found a setupp.ini on the hard drive, so I changed the setupp.ini file in a different XP Pro cd to the same as the one I found on the hard drive. I gave that a go in vmware with the cd key on the side of the PC, but had no luck with that CD key. Is the setupp.ini file the one that it checks for the cd key? I then pulled the cd key off the hard drive (refer to the other thread). It was different to the sticker on the side of the PC. Tried it again in vmware. Still no luck. What else can I try? And also, is this "legal" in the eyes of microsoft? I'm not pirating the OS, i'm just attempting to reinstall using the liscence that the PC already has.
  8. Cheers mate, pulled the cdkey off it. However, i've got more issues, which i'll post in a new thread.
  9. Yer I doubt my chances of it booting at all. The system it come from was a P4 with 915 chipset, and the only other system I have here that supports SATA is an A64 with NF4.
  10. I have a PC here that has a faulty motherboard. Is it possible to pull the CD Key off the hard drive if plugged into another PC that is running a different install of XP on a different hard drive? (does that make sense??)
  11. Ooo, I thought it would be as simple as that, thanks very much!
  12. Is it possable to move the my documents folder to a different drive?
  13. Thank you very much, kind sir!
  14. Just set up the family with SP2. Now i've been using realVNC for ages, on both 98se and XP without a hitch, but now with SP2's firewall I can't connect. Turn the firewall off, and it's fine. Is it something i'm just gunna have to put up with. I could use remote desktop, but i'd prefer to use realVNC for some reason.
  15. The .vbs is fine, works all good. Doesn't work when running from the batch file.
