  1. How do you resize the IE window? I mean when you click 'open in a new window' Mine has shrunk to a pathetic size!
  2. Just wondering how old the regular browsers of the MSFN.org site are!
  3. Lots of rumours have been floating about saying various things about ie. The following is a list of some which I have heard: 1. IE 6 SP1 will be the final IE and users will be expected to upgrade to MSN Explorer (a pay browser). 2. There will be an IE 7 which uses the .NET framework and it will be the final IE, users will then be expected to upgrade to MSN Explorer (a pay browser). 3. There will be an IE 7 which does not use the .NET framework and it will be the final IE, users will then be expected to upgrade to MSN Explorer (a pay browser). 4. There will be no more updates to IE and the next 'version' will be built into Windows Longhorn but will not be called IE. Most people believe the first rumour to be the likely case unfortunately. Rumour 2 is possible and hopefully likely. Rumour 3 is unlikely with Microsoft wanting to move to .NET and not doing it with such a major product! Rumour 4 is only likely to occur if Microsoft does not adopt their new policy in Windows Longhorn where the core part of windows is NOT IE (this may be forced on them by the DoD). Regardless I throw this issue out to the forums and ask for the following: 1. Opinions 2. Extra Rumours 3. Known Facts Let's make this the definitive thread for the next IE! p.s. on another note does anybody know how to alter the size of the IE window when you click 'open in a new window'. Mine has shrunk so that when you open in a new window the new window just shows the titlebar!
  4. Thanks everyone for all of your comments, especially to those who provided comments on why NOT to use MSN 8. Believe me I am not a newbie and the fancy colours do not make me happy I am interested in its features. My only real interest comes from the fact that IE 6 SP1 will be the last IE (according to to rumours), Microsoft then expect all of its IE users to move to MSN (probably without informing them and expecting them to pay a subscription for its use.) HELLO MAJOR FEDERAL CASE!!!
  5. in build 2903 in the about screen Microsoft mention portions of the software was developed by SRS labs. Firstly who are SRS labs and secondly how much of the program did they develop? Just A Thought!
  6. To all of the users who replied thankyou, My intention is not to ask for a crack or serial but just how you can start using the software. All I really want is MSN Explorer, nothing else!
  7. Does anybody have account information so that I can use the new MSN 8 software. I downloaded it from the msn site but when I tried to use it-it asked for account information. Please help me and many other users by providing this information thanks!
  8. Those from experience in this area can hopefully answer this question. I live in the UK and broadband ADSL has recently become available in my area and at a a reasonable price to (about an extra £4 per month) my question is this: What is the cheapest adsl modem which can act as a router (only between two computers), firewall and modem, while I do want a secure system my primary concern is price. I have checked ADSL sites for this but most just describe ADSL itself. Also, if any of you reading this are from the UK and can recommend a cheap, reliable ISP which charges about £20 per month that would help to. Thanks
  9. A question which I am sure many people would like to know is how exactly do you become a beta tester and receive products which have been released to 10,000 users for testing e.g. office 11 which comes out soon? And something else which surprises me is that sites hosting and speaking about betas say "Build 1105 leaked from Microsoft" etc. !!!!!!!!!!! THESE BUILDS ARE NOT LEAKED !!!!!!!!!!!! There is one way to tell this, if it was leaked then it would not have nicely been packaged into a windows installer setup file. Microsoft release these unstable builds to us we then test them and reveal our findings on these sites which Microsoft will then view and attempt to fix the problems users find. It is a much better way then just sending it to 10,000 users and getting limited feedback. Microsoft will deny this and attempt to remove it from sites but too late for it to spread. They then put problems in the software so that when the time comes you do upgrade. Any comments would be appreciated on this matter and I would like someone to try to prove me wrong however the main question still remains how do you become a beta tester??????
