  1. I get the following warnings. So far they only show up sometime during the setup. Also I do not use Security Center or windows firewall. These occur with winnt.exe, winnt32.exe, and the CD install. On the CD version I used the original WBEMOC.INF Event Category: None Event ID: 5603 User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Description: A provider, Rsop Planning Mode Provider, has been registered in the WMI namespace, root\RSOP, but did not specify the HostingModel property. This provider will be run using the LocalSystem account. This account is privileged and the provider may cause a security violation if it does not correctly impersonate user requests. Ensure that provider has been reviewed for security behavior and update the HostingModel property of the provider registration to an account with the least privileges possible for the required functionality. Event Type: Warning Event Source: WinMgmt Event Category: None Event ID: 63 User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Description: A provider, CmdTriggerConsumer, has been registered in the WMI namespace, Root\cimv2, to use the LocalSystem account. This account is privileged and the provider may cause a security violation if it does not correctly impersonate user requests. Event Type: Warning Event Source: WinMgmt Event Category: None Event ID: 63 User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Description: A provider, HiPerfCooker_v1, has been registered in the WMI namespace, Root\WMI, to use the LocalSystem account. This account is privileged and the provider may cause a security violation if it does not correctly impersonate user requests.
  2. Thanks to many suggestions, I think that the winnt32.exe install is fixed (not sure about winnt.exe yet). At least for me anyway. I had the same problems and I tried the $oem$\$1\$$rename.txt under the I386 folder. This seemed to help some. Then I remembered I had not tried the suggestion made by litvinoven from this thread This Thread Post #14 In the wbemoc.inf I only needed to comment out [WBEM.CopyMOFs] rsop.mfl rsop.mof and added [WBEM.SYSTEMMOFS] cmdEvTgProv.mof ;nLite add: ,evtgprov.mof napclientprov.mof ;nLite add: ,napprov.mof napclientschema.mof ;nLite add: ,napschem.mof using nlite 1.4.6. I'm not sure yet which or if both the $$rename.txt and litvinoven methods fixed my problem. I've attached my wbemoc.inf, the preset, and the $$rename.txt. Also there are no errors in the setuperr.log So far the only thing I see is the following. I only shows up twice and I'm pretty sure is during the setup. Event Type: Error Event Source: PSched Event Category: None Event ID: 14000 Description: QoS: The Packet Scheduler failed to register with the Generic Packet Classifier (msgpc.sys) Let me know if you may need anymore info. Update Upon further testing i did not need the $$rename.txt or the lines under the [WBEM.SYSTEMMOFS]. Commenting the lines out of the [WBEM.CopyMOFs] section fixed (so far) my problem. One more thing this seems to break the winnt.exe install. The install ignores parts or most of the unattended winnt.sif file. I forgot to mention I install over the network. BartPE and winnt32 work for now. Update The winnt.exe install ignores the following OemSkipEula ProductKey TimeZone workgroup\domain OEMSkipWelcome (mini setup) There may be a couple more. The setup does complete without errors. wbemoc.inf XPSP3.ini __rename.txt
  3. The nLite crew are rock stars!!! Thanks
  4. Thanks litvinoven I'll give that a try.
  5. Ok thanks to Nuhi's suggestion I ran my setup from an iso in vmware. It seems to be ok except for the following error, which may or may not be related to nlite. Could someone give a explanation or a link to why winnt.exe fowls things up and or if it will be possible to install over the network with something like BartPE with a nlited OS. I really do appreciate all the help. Event Type: Error Event Source: PSched Event Category: None Event ID: 14000 Date: 6/11/2008 Time: 2:38:16 PM User: N/A Computer: XPSP3 Description: QoS: The Packet Scheduler failed to register with the Generic Packet Classifier (msgpc.sys).
  6. To nuhi: The only reason I don't use a CD\DVD, is because i install over a network. Would it matter if i used say BartPE with the Winnt32.exe. Other thoughts. SP2 works just fine. SP2 might have a few tweaks that do not seem to work and thats fine. So why would SP3 have such a fit. A trial would be great. Thanks for your info.
  7. To boooggy: Attached files. The preset was initially used on the XP SP3, but it has been save over from a XP SP2 session. All the selections should be the same. To nuhi: I run it from winnt.exe wbemoc.inf XPSP3.ini
  8. I forgot to add the services list to the last reply. I've removed only Error Reporting and System Restore Service under components. This file is tab delimited. Thanks System_services.txt
  9. Part 2 Setupapi.log setupapi.log_Part_2.txt
  10. Part 1 Setupapi.log setupapi.log_Part_1.txt
  11. I am also having the similar problems with XP SP3 and nlite 1.4.5 I know for sure that the listed services are not working. Com+ not present WMI not present System Event Notification is present but will not start. Windows Firewall\ICS is present but will not start. This happens only with SP3 not with SP2. I've attached the setuperr.log, System Event error log, and the Application error log. I've also attached the Last Session.ini file. If needed I can go into more detail but litvinoven has given pretty much what I've experienced. Thanks for a fantastic program. Application_Event_Log.txt System_Event_Log.txt setuperr.log.txt Last_Session__205406.10_14.04.55_.ini
