Not neccessarily, depends, where the bios and roms were obtained. There are perfectly legal methods of obtaining both if you own both a Super Nintendo and 1 or games. Other emulators such as PCSX2 for PS2 emulation have similar concepts. It is only illegal if you download the bios/roms/discs without using either the original disc/cartridge/bios from/for the console. The law may also vary from country to country. Interesting point made by acoustibop is: do you really think Ubuntu would allow emulator packages into the repositories if they were illegal?

From past experience, hard drive going dead. Watch out for louder than normal sound coming from hard drive. Usually precursor to failing. If u here it clicking it means its failing or failed.

You could try some old emulators games e.g. SNES games.

You could try updating it with the latest patch from the EA site.

Hey mikey5194, You could try running the game with the lowest possible resolution, 640x480 or 800x600. Or disable antivirus, firewall etc before running the game. Maybe increase pagefile size. To be honest, ur system is below recommended. So a new pc would prob be best to run the game properly. Upgrading old parts is usually not worth the hassle.
