If it where that simple... I get problems regardless of wether I'm using the RunWPI. exe of .inf alternatives. The only way of running it without any problems is by starting it manually after XP is installed.

Ok, ok, you can cry on my shoulder. It's very noble from you to admit technical incompetence. Gives you high points in spirituality and gets the doors of heaven wide open. Unfortunately, it also opens the door to being sacked from whatever company you work in... But then, who minds being sacked if the way to heaven is assured? And the rest of your program is fabulous. So it's 99,9% brilliant and has one wee little problem. Come on, don't look so miserable. Cheer up.

Being the simplistic id*** I am, I'd thought it would be a simple routine where the program checks to see if any drive has the folder WPI in its root. If some drive does, that's the one to use... Obviously, if you say it's not that simple, that's because it isn't. Case closed.

Loking in the WPIScripts I found out that the Config file had no extension. Changed it to Config. js and everything seems to be ok now. Sorry for a stupid problem. Now, how did the Config file loose it's extension? 'twasn't me, mate, honest. Swear on my mom's health. Now really, I think it has to do with the fact, that unlike with most programs, when one does "Save As" from the Confirg screen, WPI doesn't add an extension automatically, so it's quite easy for someone to end up with a saved file with no extension. Maybe this could be changed in future versions? Thanks

Using RunWPI.exe from cmdlines.txt I get the error message - "Windows cannot find "M:\WPI\WPI.hta". Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button and then click Search". Well, obviously it can't find it, the DVD drive is drive "I", not "M". Maybe it's getting confused by the fact that I have 11 drives on he pc? C - D - E - F - G - H are drives and / or partitions. "I" is the DVD drive. J - K - L & M are drives created by the card reader. How can I overcome this problem? If I then manually run WPI.hta from drive I, everything goes ok. On the virtual machine it works fine, but then, there are only 2 drives on the virtual machine. Thanks in advance...

The title says it all. . I run wpi after a fresh XP install. It installed the first programs. Then got to a program that had a reboot instruction and after windows restarted it got stuck with this error message (could not complete the operation due to error 80041002). I told it to continue running scripts and there was a second message saying "undefined installer.css". WPI was not being called automatically from the XP install disc. It's on the disc but I start it manually, exactly because I tend to get error messages and so decided not to make it run automatically. The programs it had already installed (though I don't think that matters at all) were K-lite mega codec pack 3.85, net framework 1.1.SP1 and 2.0. All silent installs. The whole thing is running on a VirtualBox from an ISO image. if I try to run it again, it pops up the same messages. Even if I copy the WPI folder (which contains all the programs to be installed) to the (virtual) C: drive, I still can't run it from there. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Pedro

Does anyone know how to activate WMP "mini mode" in the toolbar during unattended XP install? Searched and searched and can't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance.

I've been trying (and failing) to associate during unattended XP install: 1) txt,rtf,nfo,cue,inf,log & sif with wordpad 2) wav & mp3 with WMP The aim is to make it happen after WPI. After searching the net, I thought something like this would do the trick for each file format. it clearly doesn't work. ftype txtfile="%Systemdrive%\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\wordpad.exe" "%1" ASSOC .txt=txtfile So what am I doing wrong? And what should I be doing? Thanks in advance.
