Hi Blunda Once a windows XP is slipstreamed, it is considered a fresh copy of windows Make a copy of it and store it as WXP SP3 clean. From this point on, when say if you use OnePiece or any other updatepack, all you need to do is copy the files to your work directory and add your addons from there. Now if you want to freqently make windows or if want to save some time, I created a PDF file with instructions on how to shorten the time to make new versions of Windows ... Basically it shows which addons that can be added and which order to apply the sddons so there will less likely of a chance of a corrupt file or missing files during the insallation of Windows. You'll have a copy of windows with a your addons that you normally would install, but you'll have copies of your work to go back to in cse something changes, like Netframework or a runtime update pack, you'll go back to that step and copy it's contents back to your working directory and apply all your updates from that point forward. You can then think of it as a clean install as you apply your latest updatepack to it. and then add your addons as you normally do. Apply your tweaks and other modifications in Nlite and make your image and use Vitualbox to test it out, no sense wasting a disc and it take about 1/2 of the time to install your new OS. http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads - VirtualBox. Follow the path of NLite do not install them first as an addon though. use the SATA Driver pack found in this forum. , just add them in with your other drivers if any at that time. Well that is why I don't recommend changing the security setting, in either case, it's just going to turn out bad. I rather have a few less megabytes on my hard drive then to deal with the headache of loss data and trying to deal with a corrupted registry or worse. Thanks Gary

Can someone please make an addon for Nlite for http://www.affixa.com/download.aspx/ This program allows you to make Web based email the default for either GMail or Yahoo Mail. It is free with no Nags for Personnel use, and like $3 a year per license for businesses. I never had any trouble making an ISO file with Nlite, except for when I had the folder opened of my work folder while using another program like notepad or word. My problem was actually burning the image file or burning the disc directly, no matter which version of Nlite I used. I always reverted to making the image file with Nlite and burning it with Nero or some other burning software package. Good Luck

Your not going want to do this but.... Security is a big issue, unless your computer is not going to ever going to be on the Internet, I wouldn't bother removing anything that is related to the security features. If something should happen to the SID file database your going to be screwed, you won't be able to access any of your object files, like My Documents, Music etc. NTFS requires these policies, and I'm sure you don't want to run your hard drive in FAT32 file system. Outlook express is another matter, but I rather have it for compatibility issues and all, you can find plenty of POP3 Mail programs out there. Saving a few megabytes is not worth the hassle, especially with DVDs and 250 GB or more of disk space. Using a separate account with a password , for general user, web surfing and the alike, about 95% of the time, you'll want to use this account and logging in as an administrator with a password, for installing new programs and making system changes. This will help you against hackers and websites that contain viruses. Here is a better way, although not recommended either. I have been trying to get windows to install with Nlite 1.41 and 1.4.5b since Ryan Update Pack v2.2.1 came out... All I get during the installation at T-13 minutes I start to get error messages with the following files Path \Windows\System32\Rundll32.exe : * Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item (OK) Furthermore I get the same error with the following filenames.... Fixmapi,exe odbcconf,exe mstinit,exe regsvr32,exe logagent.exe unregmp2.exe Cmd,exe uploadlb/binaries Windows Media Player migrate,exe etc.... I let the installation complete and found I had no rights to access or change anything, I mean nothing, no access to the right mouse click on desktop, add remove programs, nothing in the control panel or anything Now I have seen similar problems with windows, but not with Nlite or Ryan VM integrator, I have used them both and getting the same results, for the update pack v2.2.1 all versions final and beta. I used the integrator for WMP v.99i by itself and within Nlite resulting with the same results. I also included IE7v2.03 and 2.04 as well as IE8b1 and the beta addons from RyanVM website. I had tried various orders of integrating the update packs and IE7 & 8 and finalizing the addons and customization with Nlite I have removed only 3 items from the original disc from XP pro, which is the MSN explore, Tour , and sample music, the funny thing is, is that I have been using other versions of the product of Nlite since v .7 and Ryan VM update packs since V2.01 in all this time I have never had this problem.
