  1. Not sure if this is on SP2 also, but removal of Flash 6 (flash.ocx) would be nice. Microsoft is crazy for shipping that with Windows.
  2. Thanks, but after I figured out it was a version problem and located the newer version of RGB RAST it's working. Made a nice silent switchless installer for .net 2.0 sp1 and .net 3.0 sp1 that detects if windows setup is in progress or not so it can work from svcpack.inf or after windows is installed.
  3. RGB RAST I downloaded from microsoft site is version 9.11.497 but the 3.0 sp1 setup.exe is looking for version 9.15.735.0 edit: Got the correct version of it off of my VS2008 dvd.
  4. .Net Framework 3.0 SP1 fails to install saying that RGB RAST isn't installed. RGB RAST is installed but setup says that it's not. RGB RAST installs fine without errors and the dll is present in system32. This happens on two different clean XP SP3 installs with slightly different sources. here's my installation order: .Net 2.0 SP1 RGB9RAST_x86.msi XPSEPSC-x86-en-US.exe .Net 3.0 SP1 I can't find anyone else with this problem, am I the only one?
  5. In XP I could tell at a glance if my VPN connection was up or not. In Vista I'm having trouble figuring out how to show this connection on the taskbar.
  6. Rootkit Unhooker, which was recently bought and it's creator hired by Microsoft. it's like IceSword on steroids and it works in Vista.
  7. Everyone's out of stock, but I see plenty of people selling E8200 around $180. You should be able to clock the hell out of it too. People are reportedly getting >4ghz on air with the E8400s.
  8. Unless you're a musician, just stick with the soundcard in your new motherboard. The casual user's soundcard is dead.
  9. Thanks Zxian for the hardware recommendations, you saved me a lot of time hunting for parts. Too many parts to choose from these days. I really like the sound of those Scythe 800 fans, too bad they're out of stock p.s. the Zalman VF1000 VGA cooler looks like a brute
