With the Dell installation CD, I don't think you have a choice of where you want to install Windows to. It sets up the computer up to the point where you enter your user name and organization. This type of installation is called a SYSPREP where Dell builts an image of how they want the OS to look, then image it using a tool called SYSPREP. What that means is that the directory is pre-determined even before you get the computer. Hope this explains it.

Thanks for that link wl6538. I've had trouble setting up the VPN server under XP because I was having problems getting past that router but maybe this guide could help.
