I just purchased an OEM version of XP x64 sp2, and it will not install on my system. I had the XP x64 (no service pack) trial version installed and working great. I couldn't, however, get sp2 to ever update. I thought it was because the OS was a trial version, but maybe it was because of my particular system? With the new XP x64 OEM sp2 version install, I get to the point where my computer reboots for the final step of installation. It immediately boots into a stop error of: 0x0000001e. I spoke with ASUS tech support and they think that with sp2, Microsoft is trying to update a SCSI serial ATA driver that is incompatible with my system, and therefore the stop error. Are there any other options for me to install XP x64? - Can I create an install disk without sp2? - Can I use my OEM product key with the trial version and install XP x64 without sp2? - Can I create an install disk without some of the sp2 driver updates? I'm at a loss. Can anyone help?
