well i kinda have a botched install of IE4SP1, I killed is at 78% because it would just freeze. could that affect it any?

ok so i can't install the drivers. when i go to update driver in device manager it scans and finds nothing. then i click "Other Locations" and point it to the folder with the drivers in it. nothing has anyone else experienced this? how can i fix it?

will this work on osr 2.5?

okay, i got the drivers successfully installed but how do i use my mp3 player, and flash drives? thanks for your help. this is really ticking me off!

speaking of obsolescence, i still use my Tandy 1000tx for stuff from time to time, and my TI-994A for when im bored and i will still never understand why people think new is always best (well some people, anyway).

@fishindude; i think he means if you use older software in a corporate enviroment microsoft won't sell you OEM licsenses i mainly use win98 for gaming, my personal fav is unreal tournament

well, i had a brief stint with windows me today, and it sucked. im going to promptly re-install 98se what do you guys use for a media player/organizer? anything better than winamp?

hi all im using windows me, and when using usb or copying files the pointer slows down considerably on windows 98 se, this does not happen is there a way to fix this, like a hotfix or something? thanks

thats want i wanted it for. yeah ill check that out i was gonna use mediamonkey, but when i finish add files to my library and try to play a song, it just goes thru my entire library not making a peep

well, it installs Internet Explorer 6, Windows Media Player 9, DirectX 9.0c (December 2006) and all availble updates, not to mention some unoffical updates, and some very useful 3rd party apps. so, IMO, yes, thats pretty much it

Hi! try this for installation: http://www.windows98.windowsreinstall.com/...NSTALL%20GUIDES and for the updates use AutoPatcher for 98SE http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=80800 as far as i know you can't install 98 on 512mb of ram, so it would be good to take a stick out install then put it back in theres a patch i think, but you'll have to ask someone else

so 98se was realeased in 1999? i didn't know that windows 9x does rule. it really does
