  1. Yes, i did that. It installs perfectly. Except that it asks at the very end do I want to close the dialogue box or go online to download updates. Is there a way that I can skip the dialogue box at the very end and have no user interaction? I do it fine with Office 2007.
  2. I hope someone can help me out here. I amtrying to install Office 2007 with SP1 silently. I am using the BDD 2007 and am finally getting the hang of. I created a brand spanking new image of Vista with a bunch of software, all installed silently. The only problem I had was with 2007 with SP1. When I did it with just 2007, it went through perfectly with a basic progression graph. At the end of the SP1 install, it prompted me to either close or go online for office updates. Does anyone know of any switches I could use for SP1 to get it to install silently? Thank you in advance.
  3. I hope someone can help me. I am trying to do a Lite Touch install of XPSP2 using BDD 2007. Xp installs fine. No user intervention after the Lite Touch Wizard. I used the Office Resource Kit to create a transform file for Office 2003. I set it up and everythign is going fine until the install stops and says that setup cannot find DESKTOP.INI file. I've used the Cd that the application folder was used from several times without a hitch. Am I doing something wrong in the resource kit wizard or is there a patch that's needed? Or is it possible to install Office 2003 SP2 unattended through BDD 2007? Any help would be appreciated.
  4. I'm still trying to work my way around Vista and WSIM. I created an image from scratch and syspreped it without a sysprep.xml files. I would like to attach an unattend xml to it to automate the next install. I have been trying without success to automate installs with custom wims and it just hangs at the screen with the cursor and "please wait". I wouldl ike to know how would you attach the unattend.xml to a particular wim? Or do you drop it somewhere on the soon-to-be-imaged drive after you diskpart it?
  5. Thanks for the advice. I was hoping to avoid the WSIM and XML all together. It's a giant headache when my images are failing to install. I wish Microsoft would take a page from Nlite and Vlite and simplify things. Not dumb it down, but not weigh it down with extras to make it look like a high powered program.
  6. I am really trying to make Vista installs unattended. I've used Nlite and was pleasantly surprised. I simply got fed up with with MS tools (BDD and WSIM). Too complex for simple imaging and deployment. My question is is there a way to automate the Vista install that would include formating and partitioning the hard drive? I would trully like to pop the DVD in the drive and walk away. I've unattended everything else except that. Did I miss a step or is this even possible?
