  1. Hi, I have been given the task of cleaning up our disk drives and deleting files older than a certain date. Does anyone here know of a good file management tool that can enable me to clean out folders and files over a certain date. The program must work on Windows NT4.0 server, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks Hudson-Manx
  2. Is you system a custom build or did you get it from a manufacturer like Dell or Compaq etc. At my work place I have to support Dell computers and have noticed when re-installing Win2K that I am faced with the same problem as this. I narrowed it down to one of the mobo drivers, have you checked that all your chipset drivers and stuff are installed. Some boards that have Promise controllers in for hard drives come up with the same question mark. It is annoying I know but it may be worth just checking what features are on your mobo and seeing if all the drivers are installed. HM
  3. You guys didnt mention any of the Asus boards, I used the A7V333 so far have had no problems with it. I also purchased some high speed DDR memory for it made by Corsair XMS3200 from Overclockers.co.uk it cost me £134 for 512k per stick which is a good price. Just a suggestion you might wanna look into. Thanks, HM
  4. Normally you have to click in the shortcut key box, then press the key you want to assign. I assigned CTRL+ALT+L for mine. Thanks, HudsonManx
  5. I rolled back to Windows 2000 on my computer at work because of stability issues. I created a shortcut to lock my workstation and then setup a keyboard shortcut. Here is what you need to do; Right click your desktop, go to NEW > SHORTCUT Then it will ask you to browse a location for the shortcut, just type in the following; %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation Give your shortcut a name then click ok to finish. Double click the shortcut you just created and see if it locks your computer. If it works you can then assign keys to your shortcut by right clicking your newly created shortcut. Best of luck. Thanks, HudsonManx
  6. Sounds cool, also I had big problems trying to get hold of Corsair memory, it took Overclockers.co.uk 3 weeks. Best of luck!
  7. You never know something might come along to support new servers. I doubt that they will do anything for NIC but who knows.
  8. Point taken Aaron, you're right about the 10 connections. Our Compaq server is still on Beta3 but will take the plunge and move to RC1 at somepoint. Don't you think it is easier for setting up services like website, intranet, DNS and stuff with the new wizards. I quite like it. Thanks, Mark
  9. If you live in the UK, www.scan.co.uk is a good place to go. Check out there today only page they have some good deals on there. But going back to your question, I expect them to stock the usual gear, Gfx Cards, Mobo's, Drives that sort of stuff. Some of these places that do the specialist PC kit, like for serious PC nuts it's so annoying when stuff is advertised on there sites and then they are out of stock for weeks. Thanks, HM
  10. Aaron, So did you register yourself with M$ as a beta tester or use someone else login id? I got mine through our company MSDN subscription, its not worth downloading unless you are going to use the software in a proper corporate environment. We setup a Compaq Proliant with .NET Standard we got about 50 users on it, seems to work well although there are a few issues which we had to report to M$. HM
  11. Last time I came to #msbetang no one was talking so I made a swift exit. I have been a little busy recently with software testing and stuff so havent really had time. Glad to see the community is still as strong as ever!! Laterz HM
