  1. Thanks Kurt, just making sure. Thanks again for the help gb
  2. Hi Kurt_Aust and thanks a million for this how-to. I have a question that might seem stupid, but I see that the updates in the \Hotfix folder start and 020-Win*, do we have to download previous updates (ie from 001 to 019) or are these superseded? Thanks again for your effort and best regards GB
  3. Hi all, I am having a terrible time trying to download xp x64 post sp2 patches/hotfixes, etc. I have tried with the MS Catalog, but ended up downloading nearly 400MB of stuff, some of which only pertains to server2003. I also checked the Windows Updates Downloader site, but there are more updates than those shown. I have installed xp64 on my machine, done all the windows-updates. Obviously now there is no way to extract them once installed. If anyone could please point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. I managed to create the 32-bit unattended, with the guides posted in here and would like to thank all those who have put in the time and effort to help others. Thanks again gb
  4. Hi Kukris, and all the others who may be interested (I know that this post is nearly 3yrs old, but I only stumbled upon it today). The only way to disable the IPC$ share is to disable the Server service. Now this will not stop you from your browsing/normal day-to-day workings but no-one will be able to see what's on your PC (that's the theory). Microsoft O.S.s' are like swiss cheese....Stick to Linux/Unix. If the Mars missions are piloted by UNIX operating systems....there must be a reason...makes you think, doesn't it??
  5. HI All, I have stumbled upon this site: for all updates: http://beqiraj.com/windows/vista/64-bit/index.asp Even though this particular page has the x64 downloads (quite a lot of them too), it does have other products as well, just thought this could be helpful regards to all and Merry Christmas
  6. HI Zenq, You mean svcpack.ini file. I stick with the default which is: \I386\SVCPACK folder. Just copy whatever the hotfixes are in this folder and add the appropriate install string in the [setupHotfixesToRun] section, for example: dotnetaio.exe /Q /O /N /Z Hope this helps you gb
