The xpcreate.log follows this post: I used xpcreate.cmd. I mod'd the xpcreate.ini to point to the win2k prof cd in drive f: and to point to the cd burner in drive g:. I did not use any answer file or batch file. I put win2ksp4 in spacs and I put about 12 patches in hf1 and 4 patches in hf2 and wmp in svc-wmp. I d-click xpcreate.cmd. It created a cd which I used to install a machine. It worked great. But when I went to Control Panel Add/Remove Progs, there were no words ( that is no letters which make words that describe what the program is, ie Windows 2000 Hotfix - KB826232). Just the little icon on the left side of the Add/Remove. That is what prompted me to run it again. So I reran xpcreate and created 2 or 3 more CDs each a little different as I removed one or two of the original patches trying to determine which was causing the Control Panel problem. I have now distilled my freshly reloaded xpcreate to include only win2ksp4 and 1 hotfix (tried 329115 by itself, then tried 823132 alone, and finally 826232). It appears to run, it creates the .iso file in the xpcreate dierctory but no longer writes a cd. I get no error. I have rebooted, reinstalled Easy CD Creator, uninstalled ActivCard Gold for smart card because I was installing & testing that in between xpcreate sessions. Each time I retry, I put in a fresh CD even though the one that is in there from the previous attempt appears blank to me. I have burned other CDs (Virus defs)before and since the xpcreate problem started. In Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs is a list of programs installed on the system; like an Adobe Acrobat icon then the words Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard, then a size and a Change/Remove button for that program. My Control Panel's Add/Remove Progs screen, after using the xpcreate cd, showed icons only, no words. I know that the hotfixes were installed because I could see them in the registry but I could not see them in Control Panel. I was hoping that somebody else had seen this and could point me in the right direction. I did a search but did not find anything related to Control Panel. Thanks anyway.

New to this. Just installed, downloaded patches and ran xpcreate.cmd and it created a CD for me. Loved it. But now I have 2 problems. #1 - I used the cd to load a system and it was a snap. Wanted to verify all hotfixes were there so went to Cont Panel - Add/Remove Progs. There are icons but no words next to them. Currently Installed Progs shows several icons. I checked the registry and the patches were installed but how come they don't show in CP? So I created a 2nd and 3rd CD just to be sure I had not fat-fingered something. Same result. #2 So I Rebooted. And now it runs all the way thru but does not create the CD. I watch the screen and it creates teh .iso but then the dos window just disappears. I tried to look at the log file but it is also gone. Reinstalled xpcreate. Same This thing is such a time-saver, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.
